This is why I can't chose a helmet

So since the beginning of the game I’ve struggled with finding a helmet to suit my guy. Call me crazy but I actually imagine a person behind that helmet, someone calm but skilled at fighting, someone who doesn’t overly intimidate the enemies but can still kick butt at the same time. Remember Buck? He wasn’t all “GRRR IMMA KILL YOU”, he was calm and collected. That’s the kind of personality I picture my Spartan to have.

Now how does this connect to me not finding a good helmet? Well you see in Reach, I chose the CQB helmet to be my ‘trade mark’ (It was a fairly under-used helmet due to not many people liking the style. I thought it was ugly too, but once I saw Halo Legends’ “Homecoming” I was like “I have so much more respect for the CQB helmet and armor”). The visor didn’t seem to glare down at an enemy, but it was still not derpy enough (I’m looking at you, Oceanic helmet) to not look intimidating to an extent. The visor just FIT who I pictured to be behind them mask.

Halo 4 I don’t find those helmets. I see many helmets aimed to look tough, to look like you’re able to plow through all opposition mainly because of the way the visors look at you, with little to no visor actually showing and if it is it usually is a very small amount staring you down as if the eyes underneath are glaring at you. Now this is cool, I admit… but is this really what someone who doesn’t have an attitude like that would wear? Not in my world… I’ve found very few ‘casual’ helmets (As I call them). Some of them being bland and boring since you have them from the beginning (Air Assault and Recruit). I know there’s controversy over whether 343 can add new armor or not (I’d like to hear from them first hand before saying a yes or no to that though), but my request if they can add new armor is some more casual looking helmets if possible. Something with more visor showing to make the character feel less… hostile. I don’t care for unicorn horns, lack of vision, or silly pipes running along my face, I just want something that looks… kind of (as ironic as it sounds) normal.

Anyone else felt this way about helmets? The rest of the armor I’m fine with…

I just imagine that I’m the Spartan and I wear everything that I like and suits my style of what pieces I have already unlocked.

I dislike the helmets as well. There are only a few I like for the same reasons as you and that’s why I’m sticking with Mk VI.

Pioneer, Oceanic, Engineer, CIO, Hazops… let alone the others I can’t remember… just look incredibly horrible and/or boring.

I’m digging the operator helmet, but not many others… :frowning:

When in doubt, wear Mark VI.

I like the Operator, Engineer, Warrior, Recruit, and Rogue helmets… but not much else. Orbital would be cool if they would just get rid of the freaking skull…

I really hate the helmets with the oddly-shaped visors like Warmaster and Defender.

Yup, most of the helmets in this game look like a 13-year old drew them up. I can’t decide which one is the least ugly. :confused:

OMG YES!! i thought i was the only one. the helmets look like trash mashed in with a hammer, some of the helmets are perfect for Megatron or Issac Clark, but a spartan i don’t think so

the only decent helmet i can see in there is the Enforcer helmet, but u have to get mounted turret master to get it which is impossible since all mounted turrets are useless

No helmet looks, “casual”. I’m tired of people using that word in the wrong way. I like the Venator helmet, but sadly a lot of players use it, so I can’t be unique. :frowning:

In regards to Halo 4, I was surprised to how much I would love the appearance of the Prefect armor (the forerunner inspired for for Spartans).

If I didn’t already like the Mark V, I’d be sporting that armor.
