I think 343 should just let people vote if they want sprint in or out of halo 5. There should be two game modes, the first one, like the ones we have seen in the videos. The second one, without sprint. After a player have played both game modes a message should appear saying which gameplay they like more. A for sprinting and B for no sprinting.
Please just end this sprinting debate and let the people choose
That would be too small a sample. The majority of the people who will buy this game wont be playing the Beta. Besides. The debate is already over. Sprint will end up being in the final product.
That won’t work. As its been explained, sprint causes maps to grow to separate. Unless you want them to design two different sets of maps, it won’t happen.

Everybody that owns the master chief collection will play the beta and releasing a beta one year before the game comes out can bring a lot of changes

Does not change the fact of what I said. The beta will be played by less people then who currently own MCC. Halo 5 will be or at least I hope it will be a blockbuster release. Halo 5 will be played by more people, probably a huge number, then the amount of people who play the Beta.
They nerfed the hell out of Sprint, it’s only a viable escape strategy if you’re playing against “noobs”. As far as I’m concerned, problem solved.
Sprint is just a feature that the majority expect to see in a shooter these days and even in Halo (since it was there in the last two major releases). Taking it away would be jarring to non purist players and casuals alike. This may also be why they changed the look of Smart Scope. On one hand, you could say 343i shouldn’t try to appease other communities and that it’s worrying that they think Halo needs these features, but on the other hand you can realize that these features DO have their benefits (there is a reason why all the games these days have them) and that with all the nerfs and tweaks they barely damage the core Halo gameplay if at all. Yes, mobility is now a major element like it never was before, but the shooting is still at the center, the game has equal starts, weapons on the map, long kill times (even if they’re a bit shorter than past Halos, though that may also change after the Beta) and the same sandbox we know and love.
I think it’s time to adapt, because Sprint isn’t going anywhere…

I really hope it becomes a blockbuster

Question is, how many people still own the Master Chief Collection after the disasterous launch? And of those people, wouldn’t most be just the super hardcore who were willing to power through the trouble for the game that will be? 343i kind of killed the possibility of having a healthy sample for an accurate survey when the MCC was released so broken. It’s possible, I guess, that people who gave up (and didn’t turn in their copy) will put the disc back in the tray when the Beta releases, but there really is no way to know at this point.
