Yes, it is a completely different game/genre, and yeah, that was the 2nd time in that game that encounter was successfully completed, and that encounter also got nerfed notably, but the feel of it, you felt hopelessly outmatched (I’m the guy in the blue armor if you care). I have a hard time believing the Flood is this unstoppable menace if one guy can clear out a couple blocks by himself in a span of an hour. Give Chief a day or two of combat and there wouldn’t be any Flood left.

You really have no idea what the flood are, do you? The are a parasitic life-form capable of manipulating life to do their bidding, killing the living to reanimate the dead, being able to ressuerect and keep coming, tells me that 1 Vs 1, Chief would die within minutes of fighting a horde.
I bet you also didn’t know how intelligent the Flood really are? they killed the Forerunners, they have their own fleet of flood-ships, and you honestly think the Chief can kill all of that on his own? Be more realistic when you make pointless threads, about pointless games that have NOTHING to do with Halo.
Please read some Halo novels, you need to educate yourself on what the Flood truly are.
The fact that I need to read a book to believe that the Flood are a threat and that it doesn’t show in the games is exactly my point.
In Spiral Knights, you know that the Swarm is some unstoppable menace from their gameplay mechanics. You fight and fight and they just keep coming endlessly. There is no “winning” against them, only surviving. The Flood doesn’t really give you that vibe in the sightest. They operate pretty much like standard zombies.

Spiral knights looks like a rip-off Dungeon defenders. Both games have a -Yoink- gameplay mechanic, awful graphics, mundane, repetitive attacks.
This is the halo website, not Spiral knights. I understand you using the game’s " " to get your point that the Flood din’t seem like a big threat in Halo (due to execution, time restraints & technology), But please, only keep these things halo only.
When I first saw the Flood in CE (I think about year after it’s release) it scared me -Yoink-. I had nightmares about them for weeks. I got scared thinking about them. I mean sure I was like 6, but nonetheless…

If the Flood scared you… jeez. You’re lucky you didn’t play Doom when it first came out.
Anyways, whatever reasons you may make up, the fact of the matter is Flood sort of fail in terms of their design. They just don’t do horror correctly. Iconic sounds, recognizable silhouettes, and just being deadly to you the player are some of the most important aspects of making something scary.
