You all are just toxic fans who don’t really care about Halo. Obviously if you really wanted to play Halo you’d just ignore the challenges and play for the joy of playing. The devs were even kind enough to include Challenge Swaps for undeserving toxic gamers like you.
All you have to do is open up your wallets. Be Better.
It wasn’t entirely clear, but the reason I broke it into two pieces is because they were separate points. The challenge system is utterly broken, and that’s not acceptable. Being forced to play gametypes that I hate is unacceptable for a different reason. Mainly that I just don’t want to and it kills the fun of the game for me whether I can do the challenges or not.
I’m gonna be honest, I played Halo for years without progression systems. I play it to play it. Yeah the customization sucks, but I’d rather see gameplay improvements and bug fixes than give two -Yoinks- about the challenges and progression.
Thank god I haven’t had any challenges for Oddball. Since this “open beta” dropped I’ve had a grand total of TWO oddball matches in quickplay. The rotation is definitely skewed in favor of CTF. And personally I don’t like CTF in any game. I don’t want to be forced to play it.
If the challenges were experience toward earning special skins or something, I’d be fine with that. But making them the only way to get exp for the battle pass is ludicrous. Heck, the battle pass in itself wouldn’t be so bad if it was for special stuff, but making it necessary to get basic colors and tiny little armor tweaks is just bad. I don’t like battle passes in general, but there are so many games out there that do it in a less predatory way.
