This is the Thanks I get?

I have been a loyal fan of the Halo franchise for years now and I have not received my Specializations code yet because the e-mail account linked to my Gamertag has been deleted. I am hugely disappointed in the decision to send a mass e-mail to unlock the other 6 specializations. It’s also frustrating wanting to play the game for hours on end only to discover an XP cap…why would you do this?? If people want to keep playing the game and try to level up faster than all their buddies or everyone else let them. I have been stuck at a 70 for over a week now and I am extremely let down and irritated at the way all of this has been handled. I love game but this has left a bitter taste in my mouth…

Wait…if your email that is linked to your gamertag is deleted how do you recover your account then?

You were warned from the beginning to double check your email.

You can still have a Microsoft Account (WLID) that you log in with but the actual email address no longer exists to receive email (ex. an old ISP email that was deleted).

So what do you have to C/P for those of us that have legit and live email accounts that still do not have our code despite the fact we were promised them by no later than the 30th?

Hmmm, that’s funny. Not once when I logged onto my Xbox account to play did I ever see this message…or do they assume that everyone who plays Halo comes to Waypoint?

Suggest you brush your teeth if you have a bad taste in your mouth.

That was posted on the Xbox Dashboard of each participating region, which is where I assume you saw the promo in the first place, and also sent out in an email to Xbox Live members who have opted in for Microsoft marketing.

A loyal fan of the Halo franchise should have bought the LE like me, No Excuses.

That is cute. You ignored me when I asked you for your canned response for those of us with active email accounts that still dont have our codes.

I didnt get my code sent to my windows live associated with account. It was sent to the email that I had listed as a contact in my account contact preferences.

^^^ I never saw the promo on the dashboard so I don’t think its too outrageous to believe other people didn’t as well. I only just came looking a few days ago when I hit the level 70 cap otherwise I’d have no idea about the emails being sent out.

Sorry, I don’t have a money tree growing in my backyard…

Nope, never saw any of that.

Dear 343

  • This 70 XP cap is really not good. It is inconsistent. Why are there even daily and weekly challenges (showing XP rewards) if I don’t receive them? Why, in the middle of my last game, did a notification pop up to tell me I had just received 10,000 XP for completing DMR Mastery, when in fact I haven’t? How is this not shabby?
It is not even well thought out: It would seem that a player who stops playing Halo 4 until you lift the cap will then progress quicker than someone who continues playing, because the persistent player will have fruitlessly completed more commendations. It really does give the impression you haven’t thought this through.
Halo Reach would allow the player to keep progressing- I never reached the top- and fancy armour items would instead be used to give incentives for ‘special’ player actions. If I bought Space Invaders and the high score system stopped working without warning, I would feel short-changed, as I do now. Scoring systems have been a part of video games since the year dot, and in Halo 4 it is broken. That it is deliberately broken leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
So,it would seem that a player’s XP level is dependant upon how much money they had when they bought the game, or where they live, as opposed to their skill or time spent playing the game. How does that not devalue the XP system?

I got very little value out of my last Halo Reach DLC - because you didn’t provide a dedicated DLC play-list, or have a Big Team Battle playlist on DLC maps that were clearly designed for it- but I didn’t complain to you then. I bought Halo 4 in good faith (sorry I didn’t have the cash at the time for the LE version), and I feel let down. A shame, because a niggles aside (please, a proper Fast Forward in theatre!) you have done a very fine job with Halo 4.
You have already taken my money, and I have no leverage over you. All I can do is to consider if I ever spend it with you again. I’m assuming that you can see that the only games I have played on my console are Halo 3, Reach, and Halo 4. Bungie wouldn’t treat us like this.
Please, sort it out.
Regards

Specializations are going to be free for everyone being released 2 at a time for some reason in the coming weeks.
