It has a similar TTK as the pistol with significantly less penalty for missing a few shots.
That is, as the pistol including the headshot.
It’s highly accurate at medium ranges without bloom, which is extremely high for the pistol if you rapid fire it.
It has a boat load of ammo reserves so you can just go around shooting willy nilly.
I mean… unless you’re perfecting every time with the pistol, I think the AR is actually a better weapon this time… and I’m not sure how I feel about that.
If you nerf the AR it becomes useless again… but at the same time, in it’s current state it’s just the most consistent weapon in the game except for the BR.
I think the Pistol needs a magazine bump, to allow you to kill 2 consecutive players with one magazine if you perfect both of them, that would be 14 bullets.
nah, if anything the AR just needs a slight ttk bump. Increase the amount of rounds needed from 16 (I think its 16) to 18 or 19 and it should be fine
The H4 AR was far stronger, the Infinite AR is probably 2nd or 3rd if you count the CE AR

Nope it’s perfect as it is now, not too week like H5s AR and not OP like H1s AR. If you’re doing amazing with it then great. Other players will be the same, some things I think are better tested when pvp is in order

Definitely bump the pistol ammo. I love how rewarding it feels to land your shots, but the aim assist and its ammo size really make the AR just the better option. Way more forgiving as you’ve said. As fun as it would be to play against another player dueling it out its obvious most will just go with the AR.
Ideally I’d like both to feel good and 1 fill a set range while the other a different. Idk if its possible.
This is the best AR in the series and I love it. It’s exactly what an AR is supposed to be, a close to mid-range weapon for starts that is consistently helpful, useful, lethal, but not so overpowered that it makes other weapons useless.

The CE AR is dreadful, it only looks/sounds beefy

The game is almost perfectly balanced, it will not need many changes for the final version.
As it should be. It’s about time the AR took it’s rightful place as the iconic weapon of Halo. I use it more than the sidekick and even commando. The sound and Reach art style is perfection.
It has bloom, it’s just not really that consequential. You miss 2 shots with the AR and it’s not a big deal you miss 2 shots with the pistol and it’s a huge deal. But where i have to disagree with other folks is that the assault rifle is a weapon that takes almost no skill to use, whereas a skill shot weapon does. Basically the games going to turn into who shot who first rather than being the shoot and move dance that is typical of a halo game where reversals are not just common, but are the norm.
Like many said, I like where it’s at, but I wouldn’t mind a slightly larger bloom, I barely feel the need to burst fire at range, its so precise
People are mis reading my intentions though. I don’t think the ar needs to be nerfed I think the pistol needs a slight buff in ammo really

The pistol shouldn’t be outperforming a whole -Yoink- Assault Rifle with every encounter. For once, the AR can actually be used as a good primary without the pistol being wack in return.

My thoughts exactly. In 20 years I probably have less than 100 PVP AR kills in CE because the pistol just melts you unless you’re in melee range.

agreed I love the AR the way it is rn. I’ll drop a mag into a bot, and if that doesn’t kill them, then I’ll finish them off with the sidekick. (or vice-versa)
