This is the most predatory monetisation scheme in a long time

I’m not sure what you’re saying here

6 months later and the challenge system is still a painful grind

    Predatory? They’re not loot boxes and if you don’t want to buy them you don’t have to.

The worst part is that it’s not even true customization. It’s bulk configurations that you have to take or leave as they are. What happened to each armor piece (Helment, Chest, Shoulder) etc being selectable independently and colored / configured separately. Such simple concept. Jumbled into such clugey mess.

Crazy such an old thread has come back up and is still just as valid as it was before. Not even 8 months have passed and we’ve already returned to 20 dollar bundles. You can’t just buy 1600 creds. Gotta spend that 20.

I agree that the Monetization is crap, but clearly you haven’t heard of or played Diablo Immortal. That game is wayyyyyyy worse than this one.

you cant compare app games to pc/console app games have always been geared towards corporate people who rely on their phones and business people to spend hundreds of thousands for say max vip and strength

@K405NK0NFU510N they are 2 different markets

I agree they are two different Markets, however, it’s the same concept.

If anything id see halo as testing grounds trying to push the app market prices into the pc/console markets. but given they are 2 different markets you cant say immortal is far worse then halo infinite. you can say they are becoming as crap as app games though

Umm just because EA or Activision does something bad does not mean what 343i has done is suddenly free from criticism. What 343i are doing with Infinite is still bad enough to put me off playing and I used to play Halo daily. 343i management need to be accountable and things need to change or things won’t get better and I really want to be able to enjoy a new Halo game without having to worry about what the management are going to do next.

You mean Activision Blizzard? I understand your point btw.

It won’t be too long until all these games are primarily for mobile platforms and monetized to the hilt, that is the pot of gold. All the technical problems these games have, but still post after post asking for more cheap useless cosmetics, where do you think this and other games are headed. Free to Play scam.

Some like to compare older gamers to younger gamers and talk about nostalgia and older gamers as the reason for games being technically held back, Blah Blah blah, but which demographic is it pushing these games into monetized oblivion. WAKE UP!

Its infuriating to me they can churn out stuff for the store, but refuse to fix watchdog or other broken skins
If skins were cheap, like a buck each, i wouldnt pay it any mind.
343 claiming youll have the most customizable spartans in any halo game, but wont enable cross core, and threw some fomo into the mix too.
Then again, a year before launch, they said that by now the game would have ray-tracing.
Remember that?

Very disappointed with last week’s shop offering, monetizing an Independence day coating smh… This should’ve been the capstone reward last week.

Know what you mean. I feel like I’m supposed to take anything 343i claims with a ‘grain of salt’ since too many false promises from 343i. I feel like 343i need new management because there not helping the IP. I’m already hearing that it’s doing worse than BF2042.

I just now realized that. They did SELL a liberty skin for ONE armor core. So scummy

The ‘one core’ thing doesn’t even bother me the most, I’m just disappointed that they charged money to celebrate Independence Day in-game and offered nothing for free. Like bruhh, this is an American studio… :disappointed:

This is exactly the type of reason why I won’t touch the store at all. I was happy to buy the base game to some degree but I was never happy with paying for half a game just so it could be catered to the predatory live service model that basically helped kill the game.
