Whether or not customization can be classified as gameplay doesn’t really matter when it’s affecting MP negatively by encouraging players to grind out challenges to complete the BP while ignoring randomized gametype objectives.
I don’t participate in this behavior, and tried to only do challenges when it aligned with gametype goals. I haven’t played MP after being on several teams where people ignored the objective to do challenges.
sorry if this is too much to say here, but the people that defend this master Predatory system are so naive it hurts, and im being soft here
Lmao, someone hasn’t dealt with Activision, or Bethesda, or EA then.
Using that logic, looking in the game menu is game play. That is false equivalency.
If you really wanted to go that far you could. You navigate the UI in order to get into the game in order to play or to complete any tasks you’re driven to complete. UI = gameplay. It’s a part of the user experience, everything is.
You don’t even know how to spell customization, and yet you want to ‘school’ us all on what is or is not gameplay, or content? k

Woah! Be careful!
That sounds an awful lot like common sense. Sheesh
Ok. I am glad you said that. Now i know you are being sarcastic and all the things you said before are satire.
Cause using your logic, going to the game store to buy the game is game play. You are funny.
What do you expect from a free game? Also it’s only cosmetics. Think this system is logical. That said I definitely think you should get a small amount of credits after each game so that at some point it is possible to by even the expensive gear.
technically speaking, multiplayer was always free in halo you pretty much paid for the campaign in general
Even just like 10 credits would be acceptable. Then after 200 games you’d be able to get a 20 dollar pack.
Wait 7.99£? I paid damn near $50 for the Battle Pass
Betas don’t have fully functioning store fronts.
Betas don’t have fully functioning store fronts.
By definition, a beta can absolutely have a fully functional store front.
You must have paid for the extra 25 levels or something.
Big oof chief. I’m level 71 and I bought the base pass. Then again, I had a ton of 2xp from various promotions.
Name one other beta in ANY game an actual beta, that had a functioning store front, just one other beta.
I’m lvl 76 on the battlepass and I only paid for the battle pass, the idea is use double exp on the challenges including the daily in one hit and you’d get one or 2 double exp boosts back it’s a no brainer
Warframe. Their closed beta had a fully functional storefront back when the game was barely a vertical slice with the tiniest amount of content imaginable.
And even if I couldn’t name one: The issue is that you have no idea what “beta” means. A storefront can absolutely be a part of a beta if a developer needs to test the store. Diablo 3 had a beta for their real money auction house to make sure there weren’t any bugs prior to launch day.
Edit 2: Path of Exile’s closed beta also apparently had a store. It actually doesn’t take much googling to find examples.
