They’re competing against so many other bills, such as Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, Paramount+, AppleTV+, Twitch, Youtube, Cable Networks, charity donations, other games, many other subscriptions, and other hobbies (ie Golf or Pool).
Most people are already producing the money for their other subscriptions. So Halo needs to make the money worthwhile, so people pull from these other sources.
Honestly don’t understand the pricing model, soooo short sighted, halo has a loyal following and were being punished for it. £1 for a piece of armour, £2.50 for a set and I’d probably spend £40 a season, but I’m not spending anything more than necessary with current prices!!! Like if you agree with this and let’s get them to set a new battle pass standard!!
This new update doesnt make any sense, you can get more daily challenges but if you play to much they give 50 xp, this is ridiculous, we have to be listened
I don’t know why people act like customization is somehow part of the og halo sandbox.
This slot machine style coin and cosmetic game is something else. Halo 3 you just pick colors and helmets that you can only see (for the most part) in free for all games or custom games.
More over you armor fashion in Infinite don’t impact anything about gameplay. The only time you see it is when you die or between games.
Do y’all spend all your time in lobbies gossiping about armor? I get you can recount a good story about how you “Did X for this armor” but honestly I don’t care.
I want to know about the plays you make. Unless armor is locked behind “I had to tie the game with one second to go and get the winning kill”, I don’t really care.
Otherwise your “I spent a few weeks on random challenges and XP farming” to get this armor is about as entertaining as “I work a job and paid for the amor I like”.
Seriously. What we need is epic challenge locked armor. I agree colors should not have to be unlocked or only unlocked once.
All those examples you just said are actually points to my argument that there’s no way an adult can’t conjure $10 within a 3(to 5!) month timeframe toward another battle pass. I’m not about to believe that’s not possible.
You guys spend exactly that amount on non essential items mindlessly all the time. And if you’re unemployed, you have bigger issues than a battle pass. In fact you shouldn’t even have an active Xbox subscription.
My hot take:
The people who complain about this either aren’t in control of their purchases (kids, dependents), or just don’t consider game content to have monetary value (if people could just install games for free, they would, with no thought into how they’re made).
There are really only 2 flaws in customization. The shaders or coloring system isnt great and the next thing is how you can share all the stuff you get between Mark 5 and Mark 7 armor.
Sidenote: The armor effects can go on your head and shoulders but you cant choose both.
I feel like being able to earn your money back from the battle pass is great and seen in the industry standard now. Its consumer friendly and will boost sells cuz more people are going to buy and be like i can get the next one. One thing is they are nt losing that much money because those points can also be bought for things in the shop.
(Im 15 and dont have much money) But i did buy the battle pass and will save up for the next so if i was an adult it wouldnt really be a big problem more like a critique.
Customization is always going to be a big thing in gaming and Halo has been my favorite game for it.
Noone thinks your opinion is generally trash but people like me like to have something to grind for progress through, gain you could say. Your take doesnt relaly make sense especially in Halo because since halo 3 cusomization has been a big thing. Look at MCC. SO MUCH CUSTOMIZATION.
you wanna know the worst part? IT’S WORKING! i cannot tell you the amount of matches where i see people having shop items or premium BP items… Halo is dead
An adult is more likely paying for bills or may even have kids to support. An adult is usually the one complaining, lol, and if their kid is the one wanting to “borrow” their credit card for it, then it’s even worse haha
Making the experience frustrating to shake out purchases is scummy.
Sure but how is this scummier than forcing a player to purchase DLC to play specific maps with friends like older Halo games?
Also, they’ve already said they’re reversing course to make the progression system better and less frustrating. So the point may become kinda irrelevant anyway.
