TL;DR -
- No customization.
- Battle Pass is pointless.
- Can’t unlock anything without purchasing.
- No point in trying to do well.
When I first opened the multiplayer after its release, I was absolutely shocked by the customization.
I thought I would just immediately get my spartan the way they’ve always looked and quickly select the emblem that I’ve been using since CE.
The fact that the classic emblems aren’t even in the game is ridiculous.
It is insane to me that 343 would so drastically change the core of the Halo experience.
But, I brushed it off and thought I’d just have a quick couple of matches and spend points to unlock the colors and emblems that I want.
Finding out that literally everything is unlocked through the battle pass was not only a huge letdown, I honestly had to quit the game for a day because I was so angry.
I just played a match where one of my teammates was AFK the entire time, but just moved enough to not get kicked.
I’m sure they figured out that there’s no reason to even try to do well in a match since your game performance has no bearing on xp gained. The battle pass progression is incredibly lame. Why would your score during a match not matter at all?
So… Guess what I’m saying is… The game is fun at times as long as you ignore the fact that there’s no customization unless you pay for it and performance doesn’t matter.
Anyway… Hope this gets fixed with the full release…
