So now there’s a “Complete” edition coming out for $60. As the poster of that Reddit thread said, it’s safe to assume that AtN will be included in it. This is a MASSIVE slap in the face to those of us who bought the so-called “Ultimate Edition”.
We have to pay over $100 for the game and AtN, whereas anyone who hasn’t gotten the game yet will be able to just get everything for $60…
To be fair alot of games do this with a “game of the year” edition, which includes all dlc stuff. dark souls 3 had one in april just weeks after the last dlc. and borderlands 2 sure did it with its big “over 100bucks of worth dlc in this edition”
on the one hand i like these editions, because if im late to a game i can pick it up for a decent price, but it also encourages my personal take on games: if a games comes out now, i just have to wait a year and get the complete pack for the same price of about 60bucks.
on the other hand youre right its just unfair for the people who early supported the game with their money. its a common business practice thats needs to die.

For all we know they’re just changing the name. Until we have confirmation one way or another this is pure speculation and we can’t make a big deal out of speculation

It’s not just you. Modern gamers have this “Oh no I have to pay for something? Outrageous!” Mentality and it’s really… odd.
It’s not a slap in the face of ultimate edition owners. We don’t even know what’s in it.
And even if if does have ATN, the base game would be valued at 60 bucks, the dlc from kinsano all the way to Yapyap would be 20 bucks, and ATN would be another 20.

I see what you’re saying I misread the numbers you posted.
My first point remains: we don’t know what’s in this collection. So any rage at this point is based off an assumption and thus unfounded.
With the price tag of 60, it’s a fair assessment that it WON’T contain ATN. Arguments could be made both ways.

There are mistakes only the season pass costs 45 dollars and yes, we are surprised that every time we see the face, some spent everything they had for the ultimate only because it supposedly would bring all the content but apparently no, I do not blame them but How sad they become an Activision more
Point is, there’s little to no point debating specifics when we don’t even have them yet. Being mad over something that may or may not be is useless.
If it does contain ATN and the content of the season pass for a total of 60 then yeah, that’s low. It would basically mean we paid 80 for early access. The issue in my mind at that point would be making sure 343 knows that special editions should contain something special, not content that will be sold cheaper at a later time. I understand how excess works, so if legendary statues (like in halo 5) go down in price later that’s understandable. But it’s a risk you take waiting for the price to go down because you don’t know if there is a truly limited number.
With digital content like this that doesn’t apply.
But until it’s revealed what is contained in it, there’s no point. Wait for the facts and then debate on those.

Believe it or not, even in the worst case scenario this is MILES away from Activision.

I think the issue is the idea that time is meaningless. The games been out for 6 months or so. People have put thousands of hours into the game. Is all of that time spent playing the game not worth the 30 dollar difference from then to now? Over the lifecycle of a game, it’s price fluctuates and most games will drop the price of the base game and current DLC when a new expansion comes out.
We don’t know what’s in the “complete” version for sure. But even if it is the base game, all dlc, and ATN, that isnt disrespect to the people who biught game at full price during launch. If anything, its the marketing team’s attempt to get NEW people to buy the game and increase the playerbase. Lowering the price is actually the best thing that could happen to the playerbase numbers and people are screaming…

No this post is ridiculous… You don’t have all the facts.
The game has a very small player base, it probably didn’t do as well as 343 liked (rts on console stigma), and they want the community to grow so they can sell more games and blitz packs.
Sounds like this game is in need of a price drop/super bundle to entice more to people get involved… Imagine that
This topic brings all the memories with the ATN not in the Ultimate Edition discussion back.
There were around 900 posts in this topic and I will stick to something I have mentioned many times:
Bring a reasonable Discount for ATN for all Ultimate Edition owners and especially for all those who have pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition before the release of the game.
This would be very much appreciated and I guess would also feel right. With this behaviour 343 would gain a lot of respect back.
Or… you will have played the game for 7 months before ATN drops and before you can get this complete edition. There is some value in that… a lot of people don’t stay with games that long. There is utility in your ability to have played it for this long. Also, do you have the same rage for games that go on sale for like 29.99 when they originally dropped for 60? This happens all the time, this is just a variation.
A complete edition without ATN wouldn’t make much sense and would only confuse consumers, but then $60 would be quite cheap for the base game, season pass and ATN. If it was $60 for the base game and season pass I wouldn’t mind too much but $60 for everything would be taking it a bit too far this early in my opinion. Until we know for sure what’s included I won’t get too excited.
It looked like some parts of ATN were nearly completed back at E3 so a late September release for ATN could be possible.
