This is one thing I cannot stand.....

I’m loving the hell out of Halo 4 (best one since Halo 2) however, the BIGGEST and pretty much only complaint I have is AMMO REPLENISHMENT.

I know there’s silly perk or whatever, but why waste the Support/Tactical Slot with that?

I kill a few Reds (Blue Team FTW!) and before I know it, I’m runnin’ on fumes and half a mag.

DROPPED WEAPONS JUST DON’T STAY ON THE BATTLEFIELD LONG ENOUGH!

I understand that that may have been implemented to prevent dropped Ordnance/Power Weapons from being over-used, but seriously, can I please get some ammo for my DMR when I’m wreckin’ face? Maybe ammo boxes scattered around like in Spartan Ops?

Anyway, keep up the AWESOME work 343i!

I think weapons despawn quickly due to frame rate issues which, if that is the case, will likely not be amended until Halo 5.

Resupply is just for grenades off fallen players. You can still pick up ammo IF the player is using the same gun. No problem if it’s the DMR but for those who like the LR (like me) ammo can be a bit scarce (i use Stability instead of Ammo).

I do agree though. Dropped weapons vanish extremely fast and POD disappear the moment you’ve died (at least as far as i can tell).

I have noticed this problem as well, which is why I almost feel forced into using the Ammo perk for almost all my loadouts, especially since I also use the LightRifle quite a bit, which means ammo on the field is a LOT harder to come by than for a DMR for example.

Some Ammo boxes or a scattering of the main primary weapons like in past Halo games around the battlefield would go a long way to helping this, and maybe I would be able to try out a few more armour mods without constantly feeling the need to run out into the open on BTB to collect a new gun from the guy I just killed from halfway across the map because there’s nobody closer and I only have a few shots left…

I find DMR/BR/AR ammo everywhere, no problem there but if you use a Carbine or Forerunner weapon you’re out of luck.

Pretty sure they said somewhere that it is because of ordinance drops. If it were for framerate than spartan corpses would despawn fast too seeing as they use more memory than the guns. The guns despawn faster than the dead spartans.

One of the many reasons why personal ordinance drops are a bad idea.

Hmmmm. Maybe. I remember reading it was due to frame-rate issues, but maybe I’m wrong. Although ordinance drops doesn’t explain why weapons like DMR’s and AR’s despawn at all. That being said, bodies do despawn fairly quickly, but I think their despawn times are random, whereas weapons automatically despawn after [I believe] 12 seconds.

There’s been multitudes of posts pointing out this problem and afaik, there’s only been 1 response from 343, that it was intentional.

WOW…
