Do anyone still mind about the helioskrill scandal? Myself as the owner of Helioskrill by getting the achievement am still pretty mad that you can get it from the gold pack… i mean, they couldve fixed it a long time ago already…i just hope achievement/challenge armors or anything else will NOT be available due anything else BUT the things you have to do to actually gain the armor or whatever it is…
Lol at scandal. I think I was over it around three years ago, but the people who have a better case for being mad are the ones who bought the loot crate with the sticker shock skins in them which were later released in REQ packs.

ohhh Yeah, i remember that aswell, but i think the sticker AR stayed exclusive
I earned the armor, and later got the other variants through rec packs. I don’t care if others got it through gold packs. It’s a personal thing to earn it.
I really would like special armors to be tied solely to an achievement because it shows dedication, but at the end of the day it’s just a cosmetic item. If a person wants others to know how good you are at Halo then focus on ranked playlists.
I meant not really. I’ve owned helioskrill for some time now and I guess I was a little mad when i found out you could unlock it from Req’s but i got over it. I just pride myself in knowing i completed every halo campaign on legendary and got something from it plus it was pretty fun.
I wouldn’t call it a scandal but YES it was really lame how they just gave out helioskrill that way. Long with sticker shock weapon skins that were supposed to be exclusive to the loot crate. Also along with some of the emblems like the mega block emblem it should have only been obtained via getting a mega block set. They handled a lot of the way you unlock cosmetics very poorly in H5
I thought they had fixed it? Is it still available in gold packs? I earned it the hard way in MCC before unlocking all items in H5. It is a little bit annoying yes. I wore that armor for a while after finally beating H2 on legendary. Now I use Fred’s armor.

Yeah i was one of the people mad at them for making sticker shock available outside the halo legendary crate.
It bothers me quite honestly. I’ve stopped using Helioskrill for that reason. It’s overused as hell at this point.
I never wear Helioskrill armor so I can’t say that I’m very mad about it, but I can see why people would be if they got the achievement and then it was just given out in REQ packs. 343 has stated that there will be an armor award for those of us who hit 152 in Halo 5 in Halo Infinite and it would make me mad if we were awarded that armor and then shortly thereafter it was just given out to everyone.

343 actually stated that the award would not be exclusive armor. It is currently not known what it is other then it being a small token.
People want exclusive things in game. Lol reaally a small token that’s unbelieve. I Won’t be surprised if everyone gets it eventually. Then it’s not so special if everyone rockin it.
Even when 343 did add Helioskrill to the req packs, I looked at it a different way. I could either do the challenge of unlocking the armor the hard way by completing all the campaigns in the Master Chief Collection on Legendary difficulty, or by the possibly slower but easier way of unlocking the armor by buying gold packs in Halo 5. I say “possibly slower” because it’s random. You could get the helmet fast or slow depending on the randomness of the req system. I managed to get the armor the more challenging way, and it felt great. I felt like I accomplished something, and I was rewarded with some awesome looking armor. So even if people see me wearing armor, they could think I got it through a req pack, but I know that I got it by beating MCC on legendary. It’s one of my favorite armors not only because I think it looks cool, but because it’s one of the only armors you can get in the game by doing a challenge. Yeah, I would have preferred if 343 kept it unlockable only through completing MCC on Legendary, but I don’t find it to be a big deal.
They did stupid stuff in the past because they thought nobody or not enough people would notice or care enough, they were wrong. I hope they are leaving these kind decisions behind. Im praying that maybe the helioskrill will come like a unlockable exclusive to infinite.

The AR did not stay exclusive. I got it through the REQ pack.
It wasn’t right then and it still isn’t right. I cant imagine how I might feel to suffer through halos 1-4 on legendary for that armor only for some pleb to get lucky with req packs and not have to work for it. 343 shouldn’t do something like that again.
I used to be mad and it still bothers me at times because i beat the mcc on legendary and they just add it to normal req packs, halo 2 was not fun until I beat it
So I thought that it was fixed and they stopped handing it out in gold packs. According to the !tip command in the Halo discord bot channel, its by design and is still the case.
