This is no country for old men . . .

Not that I’m really that old or anything, but I feel like this game has no room for mature players who are only looking for some casual play. I don’t have that much time to play/practice, and even when I do it’s usually only after a long shift at work and my brain is fried. I just want to play and have fun, but it feels like everyone still playing this game is giving their 110% in every match, even in the social playlists. I don’t know, maybe I’m losing my touch–I admit it’s possible–but I just don’t feel like I have the time to play this game the way it’s designed to be played. . .

I honestly cannot understand how anyone feels they have the right to deny players a true social playlist. Just regular old 4v4, just unranked. And by true social I mean one where wins/losses and kills/deaths aren’t counted, because if you ask me, everyone jumps into social just to pad their stats . . . which makes it just as competitive as the ranked playlists. I’ve played more Halo over the course of my life than probably any other game franchise, but I’m starting to feel like it’s time to let it go . . .

You know what’s right for you.

Action sack baby

Nope. I don’t care anymore for KD

My biggest gripe is party chats and no mics. This game can be lonely.

Oh gosh, yes. A team based game where you can’t find a team. Halo 3 was like: pop on, win a match, party up with the good people, win 10 more matches, rinse and repeat. Times have changed . . . Sort of one of the reasons why I think the franchise’s popularity is dwindling–it’s a remnant from an age long passed.

I know what you mean man, and I’m still pretty young. The game can get pretty frustrating sometimes, when you get paired against company teams or when you get paired against randoms in teams, cause that moment you realise you are mercilessly getting wrecked and Palmer says "We can still destroy the enemy core", you realise, at the exact moment, that this game sucks. But it isn’t always like this. There will be times like this and this and those times that COMPLETELY SUCK LIKE THIS.

You just gotta deal with it till you start wrecking peeps so badly you feel sorry for them, cause those times are the good times

2nd

Really? I find that I can jump on and find people to talk too and play with

Hasn’t K/D and W/L always been tracked? At least as far back as Halo 3, anyway. (where I started playing console Halo)

In any case, I don’t think it’s really necessary to have them that way. I do like to win, and I will put a lot of effort and thought towards doing well as a principle (with varying degrees of success and failure), but I can see why people would want a stress-free environment where you don’t have to attempt so much to stay on the positive side. I usually just don’t care sometimes about it enough, even if it looks bad on the surface.

K/D and W/L are pretty meaningless, in any case. If I played with fireteams (and my company) exclusively and in no other case, I’d probably have a more consistent performance like all of the sweaty kids who don’t go for objectives and just farm kills.

it tracked total wins and total kills. Not the ratio that drives kids mad.

Im old and I love it. Arena, if I’m on my game is fine solo (obviously better if I’m with my mates)
if I want to relax solo I just go in Btb which seems pretty social to me.
Or whatever social playlist is available at the time.
i don’t get the problem, sorry.

i play for fun, i don’t care about my k/d, i find the challenge of facing those going all out is fun

I’m in my fifties, I WANT arena, I play them all, my idea of relaxing is competitive gaming, if, IF I do want to really unwind a fast paced FPS is not what I would play, I would probably boot up Gears of War.

I don’t care for the win/loss stats I play for fun.

I suggest getting yourself in a casual Spartan company.

I always have people to play with. We have well over 300 members, all are “old” casual gamers who have a blast playing halo 5.

Halo is the most competitive FPS game out right now iMO. But casual players still can enjoy it. I do.

Just dont sweat the sweaties.

Agreed. There seems to be so where to hide for older players. I can clearly feel my reactions aren’t as fast as they used to be and I’m only 34. The lack of conversation in every game is also highly demoralising.

The causal playlist to me is whatever is on the rotating playlist, btb, and warzone. Also if casual play is what you want you may want to go to action sack in mcc.

Warzone feels awful some days, yesterday I won one out of ten matches. Felt like every time I stuck my head out of a base there was the whole enemy team covering the door.

I kind of feel the same way with social playlists they should be played a little more casually.
