This is just Pathetic.

Downloaded the update, waited 2 hours… my conclusion: Matchmaking is still just as bad, but you can find a game a bit faster. If it takes a week to do this how long will it take for me to have an actually fun matchmaking experience? some notes on matchmaking issues even after this update…

  • search time seems fine at the moment, no complaints- lobby I search with still gets put on separate teams (3/4 times I’ve searched). By the way this is my least favorite :frowning: I just want to play with my friends- still find 4v5, 3v5, etc…- find 5v5s way more often then 4v4s even though there are tiny maps like warlock (The game is over in a few minutes -.-)- on the otherside of things sometimes you get a gigantic map like blood gulch or stonetown with only a 3v3 (super slow boring game)- constantly getting “Host migration in progress” screen and similar messages throughout my searches- my lobby still gets kicked from eachother after every game (except for customs)- when I find a game lobby (for example, 10/10 players), everyone’s nameplates randomly shakes vigorously from left and right. - whenever a game ends (in customs and mm) the emblem of everyone with the exclusion of myself is a loading circle until I quit and rejoin.- when I finish a custom game, the map always switches (quite randomly) to another map- also it gave me the option to ‘end game’ like in custom games while I was in a ranked game of halo 2 anniversary (seriously?)- I still get the occasional “syncing data to master chief collection” message that fails and tells me to try again or play offline, which forces me to repeatedly restart my system.
All of these were found within only about an hour or two of playing so I can only imagine the extent of the mm issues. Some people are talking about how I should just relax and the game is still awesome and bla bla bla. But just try to consider all of the following reasons why I am wasting my time writing this before you choose to tell me to “stop whining”
  • the only reason that I play any halo game is for the matchmaking, I do not even consider campaign to be entertaining.- the only reason I had an xbox 360 was to play halo games, and now the only reason I have an xbox one is to play MCC (the matchmaking).- infact, I sold the xbox 360 to gamestop for a better price on the xbox one. (Which I now regret)- the advertising clearly emphasized multiplayer, yet never mentioned that it basically would not work (in any enjoyable manor) on launch up till whenever it actually gets fixed.- I paid $60 for this game, yet it is flooded with bugs that all but render the matchmaking experience unplayable and boring. (which is what most people get the game for)- for those of you who say things like “you can still find matches so stop complaining”, I dont consider unfair games (5v4, 3v5, 3v4, etc) fun at all because they usually end up with a score like 50-15 reflecting an incredibly boring game for the people who won, and frustrating game for the people who lost. Oh and just my estimation of how often this occurs to me is around 75% of the time. At the end of all these mcc gaming sessions I have found myself thinking wow I just wasted hours of my time for only 30 minutes of solid gameplay.
I suppose that what I am getting at here is that this launch of MCC is unfair to the people who bought the game. I mean we basically paid to test the game for 343 and give them our feedback through bug postings and whatnot. I wish that I was strong enough to just return the game and the xbox one but sadly I know my overwhelming compulsiveness and boredom will drive me to regret it and buy the stuff back. The reason I wrote all this is because I not only want to know what others think, but hopefully(and doubtfully) get someone working at 343 to realize that this is an unacceptable excuse for a game release. It is very hard for me to believe that testing was not performed on a game of this magnitude, thus giving the ‘higher-ups’ knowledge of the games substantially flawed state of functionality. Let me know what you guys think please.
