This is how new Halo games SHOULD do dual weilding

Here is my little manifesto on how I think they could really do some cool stuff (at least in campaign mode, if not multiplayer) with Dual Wielding:
1–Bring back dual wielding (of course)
2–SMG and Pistol operate like in Halo 2 when dual wielding, but if you aren’t dual wielding, allow the scope mode for each and make the SMG go semi-auto or burst fire (you guys remember how cool the M7S scoped suppressed SMG in ODST was?!?)
3–Allow the energy sword to become a dual wield weapon
4–Allow the Jackal Hardlight Shield bracer to become a usable item for one hand (hold down on trigger to raise it up and block incoming fire, and it’s energy reserves permanently deplete with each hit so it won’t last very long under heavy fire, just like how the sword depletes itself quickly)
----------Who here wouldn’t like to run rampant with an energy sword in one hand and hardlight buckler in the other or dual energy swords? That would be epic (and make for a new slayer mini-game options)

What do you guys think? Sound cool or am I off my rocker?

A sword and jackal shield would be interesting to see. Maybe 343 could implement different Melee attacks while holding a shield and sword. Say while your hold a sword you miss a lunging attack then immediately after you could hit B for a short circular attack. Dual wielding is a must for halo and needs to be brought back even if it’s just dual wielding small arms.

Custom Map Team will implement Jackal shield in SPv3 for Halo:CE, seems cool (see at 2:20) :

343 should really hire these guys, they clearly know what to do to make Halo feel good to play...
