THIS is how long it will take you to DL the update

Cheers mate

15 Down and 5 Up with a 26 ping. Meh.

200KB/s download speed. 20 gigs.

Maybe 46 hours.

I think I’ll uh… sleep on it… and wake up in the morning at 33.3% then take a second and third day to download the rest… -Yoink- sakes microsoft. Way to ruin console gaming… and I only got like 60% storage remaining after that… wtf should I do… buy 13 different storage devices for 60 games?

ShadowStrike1 Can we download the Day One update without installing the game?? I will receive my game disc only on Nov 11 here in India. Can I have the patch installed ready so that i can start playing after copying from disc??

28 hours.

This patch better come soon, I don’t want to wait for over a day to play the game following release.

Why is it that everyone in the USA has an internet connection literally 100x faster then mine in Canada?

Great post dude.

Looks like I will be able to play at 00:20.

I pre-ordered digitally, pre-installed it and can play from 00:01
With 156mbps download speed, it will download in 17 minutes
Add 2 minutes for making coffee and general buffer time

Not sure how accurate your sheet is as I downloaded advanced warfare (46 GB) in 6 hours on 2mbs speed. so halo should take less than 3 hours for me (not 21 hours as your spread sheet shows)

Well, it will take somewhere between 1.5 to 4.5 hours for me according to your chart. -sigh-

well i have like 18mbps so it’ll be like 20 mins? but it never ever goes as planned so I’m sure ill be downloading for like an hour.

> I have another question: will the amount of people downloading the update on day one have any effect on the download speed?

Like anything else, the answer is “it depends”

If Microsoft underestimated the load, and either their network or the servers don’t have the capacity to handle the day one wave of download requests, then yes, the amount of people will matter. If they’ve sized it correctly so nothing bottlenecks, then no, it won’t.

Same thing is applicable all the way down the chain. There are potentially bottlenecks at your Internet service provider, trunks leaving your geographical area, etc.

If any of those aren’t sized for the load that is going to hit, then yes download speeds will be affected. If they all have capacity to spare, download speeds will not be affected.

Unfortunately not. To install a patch, you have to have the game installed to your harddrive. The only people who have a chance at downloading the patch early are those who pre-ordered the digital download and have already installed the game to their harddrive. However, this option has not become available yet, if it will be at all.

So unfortunately in this situation, you will have to wait until after you install the game before you can run the patch.

Showed I was 3.98mbps. Lol. Lies. I have a 105mbps speed with Xfinity.

Then again, I checked it while it was installing.

It’s taken me 10 mins to get to 21%.

FYI peeps

It’s taking me almost 2 full days to download this update on a point to point non-wired connection in rural Texas. We do not have any wired Internet options.

I am at 98%… Only a couple more hours left to go! If I’m lucky.

Feel blessed to have a wired connection of any speed, there are still parts of America that doesn’t have it.

How long would it take for phone internet to download it please

I pay $40 a month and only get .5 mbps. So i went to a friends house and it took between 2 to 3 hours.
