My wireless more or less reads exactly what my PC speed tests are. I always get 0 packet loss with wireless, so there is no need for improvement there. Wired helps with consistency, but I’m confident enough with wireless for now.

> You don’t need an internet connection to install a disc. There’s no connection buffers between you and the disc. When downloading a game digitally, it may arguably take more time to install since your connection has to go to the Xbox Live servers, retrieve the information for downloading the game, and then come back.
Ok I gotcha now. Glad digital isn’t he future just yet.
Thanks for that link OP. So I tested my internet speed, and I got a download speed of 17.23 mps and a Ping of 47. Can someone explain to me what ping is?

> Thanks for that link OP. So I tested my internet speed, and I got a download speed of 17.23 mps and a Ping of 47. Can someone explain to me what ping is?
Ping refers to the time it takes to send a packet of information from your system to another. It basically states “I send information to this guy that I shot him, how long does it take for them to get my message?” and as you can assume, the lower the ping, the faster they get that data packet. Connections with the lowest ping are the most likely to gain host in peer-to-peer games.
Ping can be lowered by using any of the methods I outlined in the “enhance your connection” section of my OP.
Since my home connection is threw my phone on Verizon 4g mobile hotspot I can’t connect wired. But I do enjoy speeds over 35 meg down 15 up. And most importantly unlimited data. Had to edit that in.
So if you’re a COX internet customer they’ve been talking about doubling the download speeds for most areas. Just checked mine and it went from 50+MBs to 115MBs on speedtest.net. Score! 30min download
I’m glad I don’t have work that day. I plan on getting it at midnight. Setting both the game and update onto the active downloads and going to sleep for at least 7 hours (if I can contain my excitement for that long) and then play the game ready to go.
That doesnt really make sense because I have installed a large game (Destiny) on my xbox one, and that took 18 minutes. Maybe Destiny isnt that big? Im not sure, but I have 20 mbps (TRASH lol) and I installed that game fast.
Now If I am wrong, then I wont be able to play the game till the next day.
THIS TABLE IS COMPLETELY WRONG
The servers will be hammed so no ones connection is going to go at 100% capacity. Multiply those times by 3x to get your real download times.

Some people live in areas where high speed Internet is not available. For these people, it would take days of continuous downloading and would also make their Internet connection almost unusable for anything else during that period. Assuming that the 20GB update is required to play offline, 343 is making it very clear they don’t care about players/customers, only about what is easiest for them. If the 20GB update is only required for online play then I don’t have a problem with it, because if people have fast enough Internet to play XBL obviously they can download a 20GB update.

> Wow, this is unreal. My download is 29.94 Mbps. It’s going to take me forever to download this. Nice post though man.
Yep, because having 30 Mbps is unreal. You must have patience problems or difficulty occupying yourself for less than 2 hours. Woe is you.
Would all you peeps with over 10mbps (well over 10) quite -Yoinking!- about how long it will take you. Thank god that I am one the most patient people that I have ever met lol.
