I know this isn’t going to be in the game, but…a man can dream:
They should implement a button to holster your weapon, while your weapon is holstered you can move faster, jump higher, melee harder or faster, and maybe even climb certain objects.
Hijacking or boarding a vehicle can only be done in the ‘holstered weapon’ state. When you are like this, you can simply jump onto a vehicle from any direction, if it’s safe, and hold on or cling to the vehicle. Once holding on, you can move/climb around the vehicle (all in first person view) to better position yourself to take down the driver. This can be done fairly quickly, while moving around you can use a one handed weapon/greandes/melee. If you stop moving you can take out a bigger weapon like a rockket launcher (although you are susceptible to being thrown off the vehicle because you are no longer holding on).
Thoughts?
I just wish you could defend yourself from getting hijacked lol. I know its your fault for getting hijacked but still
Make it so you don’t get any other boosts except a little extra speed and maybe MAYBE it could work.
Interesting,
I would like to see an boarding improved.
I like to be able to board a Warthog Driver side, but instead of automatically kicking him out, be able to stick a sticky grenade on him or use a normal greande, just like boarding a tank.
To be able to eject the driver or pasenger/gunner, you should require to punch then a couple of times.
I think this would be cool.
This idea is amazing. If not in Halo 4, it should be in Halo 5 and 6.
Too cinematic.
Cool for campaign? Absolutely.

Thanks!

The current system is cinematic IMO, this idea attempts to completely remove that. You would be in control the entire time, and can choose if you want to throw the driver out, or attempt to kill them (in many more ways than the pre-scripted boarding animation we currently have).

Maybe I should reiterate this.
What you’re wanting to do is far too animated. I’m thinking close to CoD campaign mini games such as falling down the ice cliff or getting attacked by dogs. These kinds of things are great in campaign but make Halo even more complicated than it already is becoming.
I’m not sure why people are so obsessed with button combos. I would play MK if I wanted that. I want a simple, easily accessible strategy shooter.
If you just want boarding Warthogs more like Wraiths where you can choose how to dispose of the enemy, then I’m all for it. I don’t want to be Bruce Willis in Die Ha10rd. Simple.
Simple.
Simple.
Quit complicating the simple.
Lol… you want Halo to turn into a double melee fest?
Sounds cool, but too hard overall.
> Sounds cool, but too hard overall.
ya maybe true
but could also be easy…
Or when you hijack the warthog you would have (maybe?) 3 options.
- Pull driver/passanger/gunner out of the warthog and jump off.
- Plant grenade to warthog and then jump off.
- Pull driver/passanger/gunner out of the warthog and take their place as a driver/passanger/gunner.
I already made a thread about this with a better idea…
