This is Halo Not Call of Duty

Why do you continue to change the way this game is played??? We want doubles back!! You gave us snipers for a week and then took that away!! And last but certainly not least, BRING BACK THE OLD RANKING SYSTEM!! There should be a separate categories like Halo 3 for ranked and unranked games. This current system is trash!! It rewards people who play the most, not who is the best! It doesn’t matter how good you are, if you play long enough you will be at the top. We used to have a game that distinguished good players from bad players. If you were a bad -Yoink- then you were a 50. Also the whole idea of jet packs is utterly ridiculous. Call me a traditionalist, but I liked the days where everyone started out with the same gun and if you wanted a new one you had to go get it. The same can be said for overshields and cloaking. And ordinances could they be anymore like care packages! This is NOT CALL OF DUTY!!

Call of Duty is the bar or FPS games now. If Halo doesn’t include some of the features that CoD has it will surely die. Halo 4 is fine as it is but 343 need to fix some stuff. And they WILL fix this.

These features are now in Halo. A true fan will see why 343 are doing this and understand that they are simply trying to evolve Halo for the greater good and personally I think they have succeeded.

JeNga, most true fans do not want a change. We want to see Halo stay Halo not see Halo become CoD. This “greater good” you are talking about is not good. It is not an evolution. Its devolving the game. Don’t get me wrong, I like Halo 4, but I think 343 needs to listen to the fan base more. They focused so much on gaining and pleasing new fans during development that they forgot about the veterans and old players.

If this game becomes like CoD it will fail. CoD has so many games you can’t even keep track of them. And each new one is basically the last one rehashed with better graphics and new weapons. Its unbalanced and takes no skill to play, and many of the players are immature adults or 6-year-olds that rage constantly. I know a lot of CoD fans are mature teens and adults, but most are the former.

I will not stand idly by and watch as Halo gets twisted and warped until its like CoD. Ruined and rehashed making games yearly.

halo 4 is my favorite halo since 2. once a competitive ranking system is implemented i will have no major gripes (assuming the rank system is fine).

Lets start a petition to bring back the True-Skill system that was in Halo 3. I mean it. I loved that version better than this one. I hated it in Reach, but because I love Halo 4 I can tolerate it. I know, its crazy, but please bring back the old one. I used to love going into a lobby and seeing a freakin’ General in my lobby. I was like “Wow”, but now if you see someone at a high Spartan Rank like 59 or 90 its more like “Ok…they play a lot” lol I don’t mean to trash talk anyone so please don’t be offended, but I ask that you see my point. As for everything else, I LOVE it! Thanks for listening.

I kind of feel like I was cheated. I thought I was buying a Halo game, got home and learned I had been duped into buying a shoddy CoD imitation. But, I guess its ok, I can ignore bad mechanics and meaningless gameplay as long as I can play dress up with my Spartan. That’s all that really matters after all. What my Spartan looks like.

Being unscoped when shot should return but I really don’t see why people think this is so like call of duty, I personally dislike cod and such and don’t find them similar in the slightest gameplay wise
Covenant guns are sweet I’m glad I can use them without forcing elite slayer on everyone and armor abilities like jetpack further seperate halo from other shooters.
I can assure you a slayer DMRs playlist with no AAs would suffer even worse population then slayer pro, Mlg and every other playlist that cuts 3/4 of halo out of halo in the past

To be fair, the game DOES distinguish the bad from the good. You’re matched up with players who are more or less the same skill level as you.

A true fan plays Halo because it feels like Halo. A true fan will give constructive criticism to the developers about their game. A true fan will understand that Halo needs to change. If Halo 3 was to be released again and again for the next 10 years it would become incredible stale and rather boring.

Also Halo will NEVER be having games released on a yearly basis. Halo 4 feels like Halo and therefore plays nothing like Call of Duty.

Yea I agree, they have killed this game a bit by making it appeal to the CoD demographic.

Now look whats happened: if your a CoD fan, then halo 4 is weak compared to CoD, if your a halo fan then halo 4 is weak compared to the other halos.

Its just lose lose lose. Give me halo back.

So where’s your proof that Halo needs to change? I see people like you going on and on about how much “Halo needs to change” but there’s NEVER any argument to back it up. As far as we’ve seen the ONLY thing that has come from Halo changing is a decline in online population.

The bar for all First person shooters right now is CoD. Look at every other first person shooter, they all are successful because they have a similar formula to CoD’s. Now with that in mind think of counter strike. Counter strike source is one of the greatest competitive PC shooters of all time. Valve recently released Counter strike global offense, Same game, new graphics. People were expecting the game to be the new FPS bar and a new bar for competitive gaming. Guess what? It wasn’t. The game slowly became more and more obsolete. The same will happen to Halo if it does not change.

Sadly, this game is COD. No longer do we have to fight over the power weapons. Map control is now gone. Vehicles are next to worthless due to the insta power weapon drop. Weapons now disappear off the battlefield faster than a -Yoink!- in a whorehouse. I love the Halo series. But both Reach and Halo 4 leave me cold. I cannot stomach the Matchmaking. They have drifted so far from core play towards frenetic faster paced mayhem. This is very much like playing COD.

Not even close. This idea that COD destroyed Halo is a poor excuse for Reach and 4 under performing.

im sorry but the argument that halo needs to change to stay competitive is invalid, halo four and reach both changed to be more cod like and both have low pops. cod hasnt changed theyve stuck to the formula their fans love and last time i was on blops they had seven hundred thousand people online. i havent seen those kinda numbers since halo three which is so disappointing halo needs to please our fanbase thats been around not try to get cod players. numbers are typed out cause i have to switch keyboards on my phone to do that on this website

That must have been a WHILE ago. I was on BLOPS this past weekend and it had 70,000 players not 700,000. Those are roughly the same numbers Reach still has.

This game is also not CoD at all! Is there ADS? No. Is there a noob tube? No. Does CoD have AA’s? No. Does Halo 4 have customizable weapons? No, unless you count pre-order skins. I picked up Halo 4 day of and as soon as I played it I recognized that, good stable feeling that the weapons have. Not the flimsy feeling making me think I’ll drop my gun that CoD gives me. Other than Ordinance drops, and sprinting( which is an opinion of mine, but I think sprint is a great addition to the game, the sprint I mean), I see no similarities in gameplay at all. Did I also forget to mention CoD has absolutely no vehicle combat at all?

I think you’ll find Halo 4-Battlefield to be a more accurate comparison however. They both have vehicular combat, specializations, load-outs, and gameplay that hasn’t gone stale. As well as a form of grenade indicators.

Reach had a low population because the game at it’s core was broken. Not because they Bungie tried to make it too much like CoD.

Halo 4 on the other hand has potential to be a great game , even with all these new features. It’s a diamond covered in feces. CoD maintains a good population not because of the system they have, but because it’s easy to master and actually provides a level of replay value with prestige mode and what not. Bottom line is 343 are trying to please Halo’s fan base. The majority share the same opinion: Halo 4 has more than enough potential. It’s just that 343 set it up poorly.

Yep, this pretty much sums it up.

Really this game is that I thought I be for online…

a wanna be COD …

so sad … been playing online since halo 2 … so this is a disappointment just like halo reach for online play

campaign loved it.

Online … I rather be playing black ops 2 … I like halo for being different… I don’t think ill get the next one if u just wanna be like everyone else

That’s a good mentality. “Well, we know this game is generic as hell and refuses to change at all and has gone with the ‘same but different’ approach for 4 or 5 games now… so let’s just do that but in space!”
