This is getting worse, rapidly. We need to talk

idk if I am allowed to promote other posts so I am not going to, but I haven’t gone over glitches and bugs yet.
Some of them I do believe need to be worked on immediately, but I still firmly believe, releasing the game when they did was the mistake. So many say you shouldn’t have delayed it now we have to wait for Forge. And yeah that’s the point. I would’ve waited to have a bug free version. I expect Forge will be great, but it’s going to come out very very buggy due to the fact that now the games out, they have pressure to complete the mode which means they might rush it to reach Season 3. Which in itself should’ve never been a wait.

I will admit I only quit matches in BTB when I’m hit with 250ms+ Unstable Latency as it really becomes unbearable to try play on

But yeah I have to agree, Desync feels like it’s getting worse, Customs don’t wanna cooperate properly & lack of Forge makes Customs lackluster.

I really want to enjoy this game but the problems are just making me want to drop Infinite & go back to MCC or other games

edit

Yup I’m done with Halo Infinite for a bit

I don’t know why I keep playing. This game has big problems, even at 30ms. You can see it in movement, hit detection, everything. Let alone the monetization. This game plays like garbage. They should never have released this pile of shiiiiiit.

Halo is the only game that I will actually invest time into, and they totally fu@(ed it up!!!

I keep coming back to only be sorely disappointed.

Yes, I’m fu@(en pi$$ed off, and I’m venting!

When players quit the CSR must be off the place I guess ?
They just let in new players to the game or you are stuck with the bots.
Sometimes there has been strange turnarounds when people quit on the loosing team and then they get like 10 kills in a row and win in the end.
Also its not fair to match up against new players since players get fatigued during a 12 minute game. New players can come in with fresh eyes and win.

The old rope a dope, my favorite strategy!

Its weird also when getting high ping the skewer, sniper and shock rifle works damn well, what i do usually is hunting on high pings
and rushing on low ping if that happen (0.001%)

Nah, Infinite has really pissed me off. I can’t enjoy Halo anymore. All I play is ranked and tournaments and the state of this game is really annoying. How can you play this with so many bugs at a top level? It’s very annoying and 343 is really failing. I love how there’s people that will still defend them and act like there’s hope. Maybe there’s hope but there cannot be a single excuse for this game taking six years (correct?) to make and it ending up the worst Halo game of all time. I’m aware that MCC’s release was bad but this is a whole new Halo game that has been created.

For example: https://twitter.com/Gulchshot/status/1538656779332202496

Volume up on this. This is unacceptable. This game is just so bad I swear to God I wanna quit but it’s the new Halo game and I love Halo, plus I compete. So annoying, 343 fix your game before you kill Halo.

I’ve never spoke so strongly against 343 but I’ve had enough over the past years.

I saw this coming YEARS ago. The very first “announcement” trailer was more focused on a stupid new game engine than the actual game. It screamed of misplaced priorities. Combined with the lackluster on screen drama, a pathetic attempt at recreating Marty’s classic Halo 3 announcement trailer score. It all made one thing very clear - this game was going to blow because the people making it didn’t understand what made the first games so great.

I’ll be honest, something I agree with you on and openly support.
The inability of a development studio utilizing assets from a multi-billion-dollar corporation to sustain an incomplete title is baffling to everyone here. The issues you’re scraping the tip of however, only concern with multiplayer, single player has issues of its own which I shall list a few small ones I have here.

  • Despite advanced AI being one of the games marketing selling points, I still find enemies and Allies having intense difficulty navigating their environments unless on a scripted pathway and are unable to utilize most of the sandbox despite being advertised to do so. Marines get stuck quite frequently, are unable to drive vehicles, and refuse to follow the player in certain areas.

  • Invisible barriers are still present throughout areas of the hub-world, specifically between islands. Admittedly these barriers are necessary at first to prevent players from sequence breaking the game and entering areas not yet unlocked, and they disappear as long as you have a flying vehicle, but I believe that once an area is unlocked the barriers should be removed altogether.

  • More of a personal pet peeve, but the concept of exploration is essentially pointless as the majority of areas are immediately labeled on your map upon completing a FOB or certain missions. This in a sense took away the thrill of entering a new area, as you already knew what to expect as Banished Installations, collectibles, marines, and FOBs are all set out on display at once.

  • Skirmishers aren’t even T’vaoans, would go more in detail but I have had an old essay draft that I need to get back to work on detailing more into this.

Of course, there’s more to it than that, but I just wanted to list a handful of things here to bring some attention to the single player experience as well. Halo rose to popularity for its incredible universe, lore, and storytelling and I believe that should be prioritized above all else.

I now find myself playing only when events are live because that is when most of my buddies are online to play as well.
With my tight workschedule, I am confined to playing with only like 12 of my online Halo buddies and even then, we haven’t really played Halo unless the event is live.

frankly I’ll only finish the battle pass and event pass, after that I don’t care about this game at all past events and when they add forge

it’s fundamentally busted

what a piece of crap

Yes, single player has many issues as well.

The whole package is totally lacklustre, to put it mildly.

By playing so much ranked i’ve inadvertently progressed the battle pass to around level 90.
Sad times….once you cease to unlock anything in the battle pass the game goes from stale to downright mouldy

sigh no kidding. I’ve hit Diamond III and my desire to go higher frankly scales with my enjoyment of this game… and I am not able to enjoy it anymore.

I haven’t even touched ranked because I figure that with all the desync and inconsistent damge outputs, why bother trying to prove you are of a certain level of skill when the fight is rigged with random modifiers?

It’s the same reason I don’t play ranked as often in Siege anymore.
Too many problems that are being ignored by the development team in favor of adding new content and fixing bugs that only crash or break the game rather than bugs that hinder gameplay.

I got the Game Pass mainly because, Halo Infinite was advertised as a live service game and new content would be added frequently, which I thought to mean new expansions, the way Destiny does it with content drops, but it’s Halo so the content will be much better.

Oh, but the reality, a game riddled with problems, a beta, that was for all intense and purposes not the beta, but the final release, quite the bald-faced lie they told, plus missing half the content advertised. The creme de creme of course is no new content for what 3-4-5 years, no one knows, and I don’t consider adding in content that was supposed to be in the game at launch as new content … before anyone mentions Forge and Co-op.

It would be like ordering a bike and when it gets to you it’s missing the wheels, that’s this game, 343 will at some point send one wheel, and then will be expecting some praise and a pat on the head, meanwhile, we’ll still be waiting for the other wheel so we can ride the damn bike.

Game Pass is useless to me.
One other reason for the Game Pass was I had thought with Microsoft buying Activision, those games would be coming to game pass, but there is no indication that will happen anytime soon. Many games on Game Pass are for kids, many are older titles with most new ones being free-to-play base games with paid extra content.

Most companies are somewhat abusive, but it’s the one slapping us around right now that matters, that’s why I have seen a lot of people headed back to PlayStation purely out of spite, and it’s easy when many people own both consoles or a PC.

Pretty much the same here, had one match today at 120ms and rest were 22ms and played fine. I don’t play BTB though which I suspect is a big laggy mess.

Nothing is rigged the best people are still out performing and winning. You may get screwed out of 1-2 kills every 10 games. If you can’t stomach that on a online shooter you have serious issues. Your making excuses.

One thing I have noticed about desync is that it is often-times consistent when dealing with certain players.

If I experience sudden rubber-banding and damage-output inconsistencies when targeting the only guy on the enemy team that is wearing the Zvezda helmet, and only that guy with the Zvezda helmet; I am already then going to be far more likely to lose encounters involving that guy.

What is the point of getting rank if it is not the truest representation of your capabilities?

I feel like 343i has a new operations model:

  1. Announce great feature
  2. Release great feature
  3. Players realise feature is actually hollow and monetised to the walls
  4. Player outrage ensures
  5. 343 says sorry and that they’re listening
  6. Go to step 1
