This is exactly why we need offline LAN and Forge

This is one of the big reasons I like the option of playing Halo games offline:

I know it’s fixed now, but there’s no reason I should have to rely on an Internet connection to play a game with someone on another Xbox in my own house.

Xbox Live has gone down in the past while we were playing Halo games on the Xbox 360, and we simply went offline and continued to play system link games with our custom Forge maps. We also continued to edit our Forge maps offline too. Halo was awesome back then.

Sadly, with Halo 5 we’re a slave to being online, and we can’t even edit Forge maps offline (or without Xbox Live Gold). I really hope Halo 6 can restore all the advantages that the old Halo games had. Otherwise I will, sadly, give up on the Halo series. The recent addition of offline LAN to Halo MCC was a great step in the right direction. I hope Microsoft will continue with offline LAN and offline Forge in Halo 6.

I agree having offline options will be useful for Infinite.

Xbox One is technically useless without the internet. I can’t even play disc based games without the internet. So hopefully Scarlett won’t be like that.

LAN has already been confirmed for H6. Don’t know about forge yet to my knowledge.

yeah, halo 5’s forge is pretty great but the fact that’s it’s online only really cripples it. I don’t even understand why, is it because of prefabs? why can’t we just do forge without access to prefabs when the internet goes out?
