This is a sequel right?

i don’t get it. this game is more like Reach with a Halo 3 cosmetic feel.

Why do The Storm covenant consist of all the orginal covenent? (Elites, Hunters, and grunts)

Where’s the Arbiter? i know he might make an apperance in 5 and 6 but what is he gonna do, and will he have back up (like other elites and his followers)

What are the Brutes? they hate humans, why aren’t they with the Storm trying to find their “gods”?

where are the other surviving Spartans? All the Spartan 2’s and 3’s that survived on the sheild world and got off of it

sooo yeah i just wanna know if it will all come together later on?

I don’t know your problem with the storm covenant, why would they not be? Remember the civil war between elites and brutes, that answers that and the Arbiter is fighting a civil war on sanghelios so wouldn’t be able to do anything. The surviving Spartans may of decided to retire or are going to make a larger apearence later on. It always comes together.

It’s the beginning of a new trilogy. Not a sequel. Arbiter is on his home planet fighting a civil war with insurrectionists that disagree with his vision to make peace with humans. I could explain about the brutes too but I don’t feel like typing it all. Read some of the books. They explain a lot.

Also there is hardly any spartan 2s left. There’s only chief an like 3 others at most. Same with the spartan 3s. There isn’t many of them left either.

Thats something I never realized before. Players who enjoy halo’s story and dont care for reading the books and other lore will not be able to make the connection between halo’s 3 and 4. 343i could have at least added a booklet with the game that had “the story thus far” section like halo 3 did.

Go on Wikipedia, find the books and read the summary for each one. It will fill in the main points in the halo lore between the games.

I wonder what happened to all those graphic designers that made booklets. Poor dudes lost their booklet-making jobs. Kind of messed up.

Well, at the beginning of Dawn, you can find Chief’s service record. It does a pretty decent job of telling the “story so far.”

The storm covenant are a faction of the older covenant which still believe in the great journey and will do anything to make it a reality.

The Arbiter is off fighting his own civil war.

Elites don’t exactly get along well with the Brutes.

We do have Spartan IV’s. But I guess we will hear more from the surviving Spartan II’s later on.

For some reason, this campaign just didn’t connect with the other halos. I mean, the campaign was alright, but it didn’t feel like a continuation from the previous halos. Difficult to explain, but it just doesn’t connect.

i don’t have a problem with the Storm, i rather fight them than promeatheans

yeah that’s what i’m trying to point out

> Why do The Storm covenant consist of all the orginal covenent? (Elites, Hunters, and grunts)

They’re a splinter group- an extremist sect- of the covenant. You know, “more fanatical”…?

> Where’s the Arbiter? i know he might make an apperance in 5 and 6 but what is he gonna do, and will he have back up (like other elites and his followers)

Apparently he’s elsewhere doing things more relevant to him. It actually doesn’t make sense for him to show back up.

> What are the Brutes? they hate humans, why aren’t they with the Storm trying to find their “gods”?

They were never “true believers”, but were just in it for the fighting. And considering how badly Elites hate Brutes, it makes sense that Brutes wouldn’t make a show.

> where are the other surviving Spartans? All the Spartan 2’s and 3’s that survived on the sheild world and got off of it

Um, “all the Spartan 2’s and 3’s”? Just exactly how many of them do you think still exist? Mister Chef is one of the few remaining II’s, and (considering their significant inferiority to the II’s) it makes sense that there wouldn’t be many III’s left, either. For that matter, why would they be on or anywhere near the Infinity?

> Well, at the beginning of Dawn, you can find Chief’s service record. It does a pretty decent job of telling the “story so far.”

Not really it just says what happened to cheif which everyone knows already so.

All I have to say is …

Elites > Brutes
Spartan IIs > All other Spartans (except for Johnson)

This is a problem for those who dont keep up to date with the writtn halo stuff, books comics ect. If you have i dont think you would really have this problem. For me h4 made prity much perfect sence and it was nice to tie the books togther finaly with the games.

Still 343i really needed to nail a back story cutt scene at the start of halo 4 to really fill you in with all this missing details. The cutt scene we got was good and gave a sence of the meaning of a spartan, but that wasnt really needed. I think people would have preferd a backstory , a sort of " previously in the halo universe" kinda deal lol.

IF you really wanna know these things then the best thing you can do now sadly is either go read the books or just go get up to date on halo wiki

Don’t forget the Chief was lost in space for almost 4 years. No one knew where he was. The rebel covenant and Infinity just happened to stumble across him. No one else actually knew he was found until almost the end of the game.

Why would the Arbitor be there with the “enemy” Covenant?
The Brutes were cool with the prophets who were all destroyed. So why would they be there?
Why not ask why 343 Guilty Spark isn’t there either?

This is exactly where I feel the campaign failed – miserably.

Nice chunk of the time playing the campaign, I felt lost. All the characters “knew” all this great amount of backstory on everyone, including the bad guys of Halo 4 (not going to say anymore on that due to spoilers).

Nothing was explained. It was like 343i said “ok, anyone who plays Halo 4 read all the books, read all the comics, and watched all the movies. So we can do anything now.”

Wrong!

I really have no desire to read all the books, comics, or watch the movies. Zero. None.

This really left me feeling the campaign in Halo 4 was the worst one (story wise and narrative wise) out of all of them. Which is sad since the game’s graphics and sound are top notch. Probably the best game to look at and hear on the 360 right now.

343i could have done a better job with at least talking about the characters that were going to be “introduced” in this game. Any of the Mass Effect games are a great example of how to make a story mixed with game backstory.

If not for the multiplayer in Halo 4 being so much fun, I never would have bought the game.

where did you get that from???

What about the 2’s on the Spirit of Fire that’s lost in Deep Space? You know the one’s from Halo Wars? I would consider them to be Spartan II’s since they seem to be in Mark 4 Mjolnir armor since Halo Wars is before CE and Reach.

Go to the bottom of the page in the above link. It tells you where all the Spartan II’s are.

There are at least 6 who are named as alive and on active duty after the events of Halo 4. John 117, Fred 104, Kelly 087, Linda 058, Niomi 010 and Victor 101. There are a few others who are not named. 3 aboard the spirit of fire and a few that are Missing in Action.
