This is 343's best halo game

So much this. 4’s story had its issues, but with some fixes could have been a fine addition to the franchise.

5’s story was a disaster, and Infinite’s a mess fumbling around to pick up pieces while making a lot of the same mistakes the last 2 games did, with some new ones!

Its weird the only thing 343 got better at from a decade of halo was the art style, while still failing at everything else, and finding new ways to fail.

it’s no longer labled as an ‘beta’ since december… SO yeah, welcome to modern day gaming of non games but pre-release betas

I liked the direction, the atmosphere for the most part, the narrative, and the interactions between characters. The over “militification” of the UNSC was kinda cringy at points but it was nice seeing the Chief be a respected badass in comparison to H5 shunning him the entire time.

I wish the prometheans were interesting and we’re just a one-off and died with Requiem cementing their mystery and the Didact becoming a bigger villain by threatening to turn Forerunner installations across the galaxy into traps waiting to spring, and that would be the basis for Halo 5’s story. Imagine the Chief leading the Infinity throughout the Milky Way defeating resurging Flood, pro-Covenant Brutes, and the Didacts Forerunners.

Halo 4 had so much potential but the COD advanced movement gameplay, artstyle, and the deaths of Cortana and the Didact just killed it.

Except Halo 5 WAS better at launch, double the content, 20 maps, 10 gametypes day 1, WITH NO gamebreaking bugs. Halo 5 custom games has had issues since the implementation of the custom game browser, Halo 4 by far is 343’s BEST title, all content day 1, no game breaking bugs, and a plethora of maps and game types.

Just a reminder Halo 4 launched with Forge and 3 Forge Canvases: Impact, Ravine, and That radioactive Swamp who’s name escapes me atm.

This. As someone who prefers chaotic, stupid fun first balance second kinds of games I adore H4’s MP and prefer H4, H5, Reach, and H2A mp over any other MP in the series.

A depressing realisation for sure.

A sad truth to be sure.
Up until Halo Infinite, the only successful and unhated Halo games that had come out since Reach were the other spinoffs.

  • Halo Spartan Assault
  • Halo Spartan Strike
  • Halo Recruit
  • Halo Wars 2
  • Halo: Fireteam Raven

These games were beloved. Mainly because spin-offs are allowed to change and the fact that 343 didn’t make them, they just endorsed the studios that actually made them.

TAKE NOTES 343
Creative Assembly saw Halo Wars 1 and then MADE HALO WARS 2 PLAY LIKE HW1 BUT BETTER
Updated and improved upon with only two flaws -

  • Blitz was dumb
  • Major Vaughan didn’t become a Commander.

You didn’t quote the whole sentence. The “but minus Forge” part was talking about Halo 5.

It is flawed yes, quick and snappy, but faulty due to outside influences, that being said I loved modes like Dominion, even made my own Dominion themed map once in the past.

I get what you mean though.

And co-op, cause apparently that’s something that should be celebrated now…

When the game is a final version and not a beta, maybe it will be the best of 343.
So far this is clearly not the case.

The campaign is excellent there is no getting around that.

The multiplayer is great when it runs.

The problem is it runs like absolute garbage. Literally, the reason I just came to the forums right now was because I got kicked out of a game. Yep, came to moan and groan that for the 14th of 25 games according to Halotracker.com I have been kicked out.

Sorry charlie but Infinite is one of the worse programmed games of all-time! It’s netcode is horrific and the brass at 343 should all be fired for how awful Microsoft’s half a billion dollar investment has turned out.

I never thought I would say this but I miss Halo 5. Infinite makes me miss Halo 5.

I mean, there is. Its honestly a really boring campaign full of plot holes that reboots the story for the third time in a decade. It has no moments like previous halos and mostly just exists to waste your time while telling the most barebones of plots.

I’ve played every halo campaign (except 5 due to having moved to pc after not having much reason to get a One due to h5 being bad) countless times, with numerous friends, over and over, and would happily play any of them again.

I guess its fun if you like just messing around, but I have no desire to ever play infinite’s campaign again.

I get what you’re trying to say, but you should also be keeping it positive.

All the people hating you for liking Infinite are the ones who have lack of any kind of understanding in anything.

Game is great and I too am excited to see what more comes out of it.

I think 4 was their best attempt for a lot of reasons. Most notably, it’s the only one that actually worked properly at launch.

LOL yup. I was waiting for something more the ENTIRE campaign. I thought the flood was gonna pop up, or we were gonna see the big new enemy, and…nothing. All we got were those new hovering insect aliens. Also I was tired of the same drawn out cortana story.

Ah, my bad. I see so many people saying how Halo 4 launched without forge it’s actually really annoying.
