Frankie mentioned in the lastest bulliten that there is a new big team map which has his favorite elements from blood gulch and waterworks mixed together what do you guys think about that? Imo it sounds great waterworks was one of my favorite maps in halo 2 and blood gulch is one of the best maps in all the games. Im really excited for more details on this new map
He did say not to try and combine the maps in your head because you probably will not come close to it. don’t know, maybe it will combine large scale, open battles with small, close quarter battles in small corridors with a large structure at the center?
He did say not to get that in your head about combining them…
now why the hell am i thinking of renegade? …
> now why the hell am i thinking of renegade? …
Renegade the map? Or Renegade the game?

Lets decipher this:
1. Post your favourite elements of each map.
2. Combine them in a way that is different from both maps.
Blood Gulch:
-long lines of sight
-lots of open space for vehicles
Waterworks:
-sorry I never played Halo 2 online (didn’t have XBL until H3)
The only thing i can think of is that it will be in a giant cave…
I have no idea what it’ll look like, but it sounds absolutely epic. Both maps are classics.
Maybe it has more hills and rivers like vahalla but has different structured bases like waterworks. Sounds awesome though!

Waterworks did a great job of combining close quarter combat and long range combat, as well as vehicular combat. It was a perfect BTB map. My guess is they’re taking those ideas, adding in some of the openness of Blood Gulch, and making a completely new map.
After playing Reach for two years I decided to venture back to Halo 2 on Xbox, when I did I chose easy mode so I could get a handle on the controls and once I did I noticed on how much the skill gap was.
In the end I felt that Reach killed my ability to play a first person shooter.

Halo 2 was the perfect game. It’s a shame so many people were unable to play it.
Waterworks is to me the all time greatest BTB map in Halo games. So the fact that it FEELS like a Waterworks-esque maps is utterly amazing.
@Halo 2 story: Yeah, Halo 3 is pretty much the same to me. I went back to play it and all of a sudden I realized how much I SUCK at Halo now. Reach really isn’t a Halo game, alot of the skill-based elements of previous games in the series are non-existent in it.

Post TU ZB Reach without a doubt takes more skill than H3, however I’m more or less referring to refined MLG rule sets. Vanilla Reach<Halo 3, but that’s not saying much.
Halo 3’s aiming is pure -Yoink-, it’s total garbage, there’s so much aim acceleration, that’s probably why you feel sloppy to be honest. Even though Reach has aim acceleration, it’s nowhere near as bad as Halo 3’s. Only thing I liked about Reach was that it was a smoother game in terms of aiming over Halo 3, but that’s it.
I’m gonna guess that it will probably have lots of tunnels and a big open area.
sounds like somthing in admist darkness and some open lighting hope it looks awsome
