This guy makes some good points

link

I know everyone is scared of the term “customizable progression items”, but if you listen to the ideas this guy presents, they seem pretty good. I would love to see assassination animations that you could unlock through rank progression, and maybe some different gun scopes too. It would definitely have to add to your adaptability if you picked up someone else’s gun with a different scope. Of course I would be against anything that actually affects gameplay, but if it’s asthetic only the it would actually seem like a really good addition to me.

Normally I’d go along with any Thread that brings up suggestions or ideas…

But you just said that Halo4Follower has good ideas…?…Oh dear…

I kid ofcourse, well I don’t, that guy is horrendously disgusting at what he does, but still, the whole Progression System to unlock aesthetic things is perfect, and has no real flaws to it other than Development time being spent on it…

But as for Customizable Scopes…for me, no thankyou, do not like the idea of that at all, sorry…

But regardless of what I think, or what you think, we’re going to end up with Gameplay-Tweaking Customization in some way…so let’s just pray it’s only a 5% boost here and there “Perk System”, rather than an Uber-Melee-One-Hit-Match-Win “Perk System”…

They never used the word “perk”, they used the word “ability”, that doesn’t exactly mean gameplay changing. Different assassinations is an “ability”, different shield colors is an “ability” (kind of).

Also, I don’t normally agree with what Halo4Follower says, I just subscribe to him because occasionally from time to time he has some news I haven’t heard about yet and I can listen to his opinions and ponder them, whether I agree with them or not.

Armor Lock is an ability, Jetpack is an ability, and they sure changed the game.

I can’t stand to listen to “Halo4follower”. He can’t seem to figure out how the English language works.

I doubt Armor Lock will be making a return, at least in the form it’s currently in. I never said that that’s what it WOULD be, I’m just listing it as a possibility.

I can understand what Halo4Follower is trying to do with his videos but to be honest he’s not the right person to do it. He has no idea what he’s talking about most of the time.

I doubt customisable weapons will be in the game. In Halo, you’re moving around the map and swapping your weapons all the time unlike Call of Duty/Battlefield where you keep your starting gun until you die. There’s not point. That’s why I’d prefer thigs like customisable armour.

I don’t like Halo4Follower. His video titles are sometimes misleading, and he posts fake leaked info sometimes. I also don’t agree with a lot of what he says.

I know, I know, I hate using the term “Perk”, gives it the wrong vibe…

But they’ve said that they are “Evolving” the Armour Abilities from Reach in some form, and we’ve been hearing about the Spartan Customization now being more than just aesthetics…

So you could scrape a guess that each Armour Piece has some attribute tied to it…

-Helmet - 5% Decreased Bloom/Recoil
-Shoulders - 5% Extra resistance to Plasma
-Chest - 5% Quicker Shield Recharge

The other pieces be -Yoink!-, can’t be bothered to come up with more, even with as little effort it takes, but I’m sure you get the idea…

That’s the way I’d imagine the “Gameplay Tweaking” to be…but ofcourse it could be something different…

And seeing as they did say “Ability”, odds are it is something completely different…let’s hope it doesn’t alienate the game too much…

To be fair he doesn’t have much to go on, we’re all just speculating at this point.

Yes lets all go listen to him because he knows so much about halo…

Ability means you have the ability to do something in-game, weather that be sprint, jetpack etc.

The “ability” to change your color? Well we have been doing that from day one and that has no effect on game-play whatsoever.

I suppose those abilities aren’t the worst things to ever happen to Halo, but I still don’t like it very much. Although I’m willing to bet they’ll have a “classic” type playlist where whatever you use/wear doesn’t matter anyway.

Halo4Follower.

Nuff said.

I hate him. He never has any idea on what he’s talking about. Did you know he never really played Halo 3?

Oh, wow, if I ever had to keep track of all that stuff in-game, I wouldn’t want to play it anymore, way to complicated for me. It’s hard enough with lag in the equation, let alone everything that would change everything and nothing would ever be predictable. >_<

> I suppose those abilities aren’t the worst things to ever happen to Halo, but I still don’t like it very much.

Ha, believe me, “Gameplay Altering Customization” is the last thing I’d want in a Halo Game…

But seeing as we know we’re going to be getting it in some form, we’re just going to have to hope it’s as painless as it can be, and doesn’t end up allowing people to do ridiculous things, like BLOCK BLOODY SWORDS…

> Although I’m willing to bet they’ll have a “classic” type playlist where whatever you use/wear doesn’t matter anyway.

I’d usually say: Expect nothing, hope for everything…but in this case, I’d be a tad pissed if the option wasn’t there from Day One…regardless of whether I ended up wanting to use it or not…

Ha, and imagine if they ended up adding a tweak that weakens you too in an attempt to balance it more…even more craziness we’d have to keep up with…

I’ve never been a fan of assassinations because they have 0 benefit to GAMEPLAY, they look cool and all and I have no problem with them in campaign. They need to be castrated from multi-player though, they stop your motion and the timing for the press to back-smack hold to humiliate was just glitched from BETA to current.

I really don’t care how much new stuff they add to the game, it makes for good custom games. The only thing I would like is a selection of classic play-lists that don’t have the “new” stuff in them so I can enjoy what I’ve always enjoyed.

It would really only need fore dedicated play-lists in my opinion.

Classic FFA
Classic BTB
Classic Team Slayer
Classic Team Objective

> Classic FFA
> Classic BTB
> Classic Team Slayer
> Classic Team Objective

Now those Playlists would be highly bloody appreciated…especially the Objective one, always seems to be overlooked with the “Alternate Playlists”…twas no Anniversary Objective or Squad Objective*…for shame 343i, for shame…*

Assassinations have always been optional, you just have to learn how to smack e’m.

They don’t add anything to game-play necessarily, but when it comes to psychological game-play, it adds a lot. Successfully assassinating someone really makes them angry, and that leads to raging, and raging makes you play worse (for me anyway). So, you could say they do add to the game-play in a way.
