last night i was in arena with a fireteam of four. somewhere around 28-9 ish, the whole other team had dropped out, except one guy. with 8 mins left, this guy was a trooper, a soldier, he earned mad respect from all of us. for 8 mins he just ran into the middle of the map, let us get the kill and continue. didnt fire back nothing. i think he KD was like 3-33…
to all the quitters take note…
he accepted defeat, yet still made it fun. hell at one point one of our guys was just standing in the corner, and he ran up to him and turned his back, like “ok assassinate me sir”
I know the feeling. I never quit a game myself, even if it is a vastly losing scenario. Nothing can be gained from quiting, and the only thing to lose is my self respect if I do. The only time I might do so is if I’m invited to a group that I’m familiar with and that is never too often.
Why dosn’t 343 make a mercy REQ pack for players like that. Gives them nothing but legendary REQs and other great stuff for hanging in there when the rest of his team left him. (Just so he gets something other than just being a trooper) he has my respect as well.
“KD” … that’s the problem. That’s why everyone is quitting. They’re so worried about their stupid KD. I don’t even know what mine is. I’m sure it’s not good. I play a lot of objective gametypes; throw myself at the stronghold, flag carrier, etc. It’s the win that matters. I lost 2 BTB CTF matches because my entire team was camping around the map padding their KD. This is Halo. I’m not sure when everyone got so obsessed with this nonsense. We’re not rewarded for it. You don’t get REQ points for it. I don’t remember even hearing people mention it until around Reach. It may mean something in other games, but again, this is Halo. And I know if everyone if so concerned with their KD, who’s gonna run a flag or cover my butt when I have it? No one. My team will be popping out from behind a rock trying to 4sk everyone from across the map the entire time while I’m running the flag wishing I could drive myself in the Warthog like in the CE days. The salt is real. lol
But anyway, kudos to this guy. I’m glad he didn’t quit. I’ve been there a few times. I’ll basically do the same thing. Or I’ll run out and -Yoink!- in place to taunt the enemy team then bolt, making them chase me around for a while. Just mess around.

Alternatively since you had already won the match, you could have just waited for the timer.

This is the fallout we get from kids who hop onto halo after playing to much call of duty and battlefield where those stats kinda matter to them I guess.
H3 solo big team on Avalanche. My team got butchered by 8 generals. 7 guys bailed and I stood my ground haha. No I just got killed a lot, every spawn, every shot. So I stuck a plasma grenade in the face of their leading killer and fled the scene.
We need an honor rule to chill if there are 2-3 quitters on a team. I know not everyone would follow it, but this guy is a testament to respect. If it’s a 2v4/1v4 situation I’m not going to rush at the dude like some tiger, but I’ll practice my jumps, learn callouts, etc. If the opposing team is docile. They are in a losing battle. They can’t do a thing. So other than massacreing them, let’s spare them. It’s the honorable thing to do. But if you’re a rabid animal trying to challenge me if it’s a 1v4, I will put you down.
I would never do that… If my team quits on me and I’m the only one left… I’m making the game as long as possible because you already have the win and if I’m suffering you gotta suffer boredom

No. I would’ve quit. Props to him if he doesn’t mind but I do. I don’t find that fun at all, and seeing how I have a very limited amount of time to play nowadays, I would’ve left and not gave one damn how any one felt about it.
while i would try to fight back by hit and run tactics, id still not quit.
this guy just wanted to get the game done with but was sportive to allow a proper win for blue rather than just quitting and stopping the game. would definitely give him ym respect,.
