Can I ask how this is going to work with regards to the cheaters that play this game? I’m being serious.
I cannot tell you how many times I come across lag switchers and cheaters. Nothing is ever done to combat this.
I would love to participate in this tournament, even though I probably have no chance at winning anything, but it might be fun. What really deters me from this is the cheaters.
It’s a best out of 20 games and eventually I think it moves on to live games. So if people are cheating they’ll be caught or destroyed through skill gameplay.

They will be monitoring it as it goes and cheaters will be removed from the leader boards. Will it be 100% full proof, no but neither is Major League Baseball. There will always be cheaters in every competitive sport that will skate through undetected. However, if they win they will get caught. Winners in everything are put under a microscope.

Yes it does. They’ll monitor the online portion for the cheaters and remove them and if a cheater makes it that far to the LIVE events, do you really think cheating infront of real time players face to face that they won’t be caught?

> Its great and all, but jeez, FFA SWAT? Really? They don’t know what they are doing.
If you would have watched the 343 panel at RTX you would have gotten all the answers to your question.
FFA tournament works better for people at home and gives more people chances to win (face it not everyone has a team to play).
343 has contracts with -Yoink!- Gaming, not MLG soooo…
FFA SWAT - they are rotating the lists so that there are multiple game types to try and get more people involved which is what this really comes down to.
They do know what they are doing, you just don’t understand it, two different things.
“Lag switchers” and “cheaters” have been detected and banned very, very quickly ever since the Title Updates to Halo 2. Chances are that if you think you encountered someone who was being unfair, there was actually genuine lag or greater skill involved.

Logic.
They already ban cheaters on Xbox LIVE, and if you’re in a tournament then you’re being watched even closely. Also if you make it to the in-person finals and take a flight out to there to compete in the same room as others, there is NO WAY they’re not going to catch you cheating.
