Okay so here me out… Not only is it constantly competitive which is good to an extent, but you have a Magnum that’s basically the games primary weapon. So… in each playlist you play the same 3 maps, which reminds me of boring H2A. Why can’t there be a better mix, why can’t all the maps be all the arena playlists. My main question is, where are the 21 maps Halo 5 was suppose to have at launch. I mean you have 4 maps from the beta, including the forged beta maps which are bad in my opinion.
We need more maps and we need them fast.
Also so to go with the maps we could use a Social playlist or 2. Something you can relax and play with friends. In the arena it’s hard to be relaxed with it being so competitive and again I do enjoy the competitiveness. Here is why I say that… Halo has only lived on because of the fans, the casual gamers that love and choose halo over other games, don’t get me wrong the competitive scene helped push it too, but we all know that’s not what keeps Halo alive. I believe 343 needs to act fast and give us more maps and playlists, amongst other tweaks and slight changes this game needs. Because Call Of Duty Black Ops3 is coming out, and Fallout 4. If they don’t do this fast everyone will see a big drop in the population.
Thats some extra thoughts I have on Halo 5, what do you guys think, do you agree?
P.S Am I the only one that believes arena should be a BR start, since that help take Halo to the next level competitively?
It wont be dying anytime soon. It will also be getting free maps. I personally have been enjoying myself even though i suck. Its got some flaws but so does every other game. You can never truly satisfy everyone.

Doubt it.
As to the magnum being the primary…I don’t see it so much after the first few minutes of a round.
The title is a bit of a misnomer. I agree wholeheartedly that we need more maps. It’s not enough, but a quick fix would be to include maps for multiple gametypes. 343 may have given us 24 maps, but the fact that there are only (roughly) 3 maps per playlist is ridiculous and misleading.
Definitely need more maps, but Halo is here to stay. And please no BR at spawn. Like you say, Magnum is more than enough.
I wont be playing COD black ops and without a pip boy edition of F4 I will wait on price drop sooo… my next purchase will be an Elite Controller. So I hope to be playing awhile

As if there was any chance in hell of that happening. Most people I have met would tell you that Reach had the worst Halo multiplayer.

I don’t necessarily think it is an issue of there not being enough maps. There are 15 arena maps. Breakout gets five specifically for that playlist. The other ten maps are all utilized in Slayer gametypes (so… Team Slayer, FFA, and SWAT use all ten). Strongholds and CTF are the only gametypes that don’t utilize all the maps but those modes are part of Team Arena which also drops in Slayer gametypes. Ten maps is pretty average in terms of map delivery for a new game so if you are seeing the same maps over and over again, which I seem to, the issue isn’t map content but the algorithm for map rotation. It’s randomized but it isn’t negating maps that have just recently been played in that playlist. Adding more maps won’t fix this algorithm, if anything it may make it more muddy.
I’d agree we could go with another Warzone map or two though.
This is the first title since H3 that I could see myself still playing years from now, and I think lots of people think the same. Many of my friends who abandoned Halo during the Reach-H4 period, in favour of CoD, are now telling me that they aren’t even going to bother with trying BOps3.
That being said… they will need to improve custom games settings & get forge “just-so” in order to truly bring back that lasting H3 community feeling.
I doubt it. Especially based on your logic with H2… H2 Imo was the best Halo MP ever! IT could use some more maps, but the difference this time around is that the map packs are free and will not split the community. I’ll be playing for a long time to come.
Doubt it, everyone I know loves this game. Even the friends that worship Halo 2. I’m having a blast playing, I was getting my butt kicked at first, now I’m getting better and my K/D is slowly going up towards positive!
