There’s no level system like before. Its all based on bate pass. Halo was a grind to get new gear. Halo reach did it best. Even the ranking system was great. I am all for a separate ranked Playlist rank but a true xp rank would be awesome. The battle pass is ruining video games.
Just remember that they delayed this for a year.
ok…go back to Halo MCC, Halo 5, CoD, Battlefield, Fortnite, etc…there are tons of other games out there with a ranking system if that is something you absolutely have to have to enjoy a game.
No what a care for is a game that isn’t made to suit the competitive scene before the casual scene. People that aren’t that good still deserve to see some sort of progression without having to play ranked or buy a battle pass. @Ashtrim
honestly…Halo 5 was more hardcore competitive then this…I couldn’t get into Halo 5 to save my life, where as this just seems more return to form …for me at least
It doesn’t get any more casual than having a static challenge for simply playing matches so I’m not sure what your complaint is. Playing casual matches didn’t effect your rank in previous Halo games and it works just the same in this one. What does “casual progression” look like to you?
Fair enough. I guess I didn’t get into halo 5 until last year. I’m honestly salty without swat. But that im holding out for. I get this is a beta and maybe I’ll be surprised on dec 8. I like playing comp a lot but I also want other casual gamers to have fun.
I think I’m explaining myself incorrectly. I thinking of a ranking system like reach. Where xp gave you a new title. Or even halo 3 thats progression I like. I may be seeing it different than others and maybe I’m just old and stuck in my ways.
I am curious as to what if anything will change on Dec. 8th besides a title change…I mean that would be a good time to have a decent size update to the MP suite…guess we will find out soon enough.
The only thing i dislike about HALO is the movement feels clunky that do not feel as smooth and responsive as overwatch/apex
Unfortunately they were pretty clear from the start about how the customization would work. 343 said that the battle pass would be how armor unlocks would go. However this battlepass seems to rank up slowly on the surface but when factoring in the boosts it gives at certain levels you can go from 1 to 20 in a few play sessions.
honestly they are trying to go free to play model for the multiplayer. this is different from the other halos and even the MCC. when Halo 1-reach came out they went with a buy game for 60 bucks and buy 10-20 buck dlc as it came out. Thus all progression was just based on playing. While this was happening other more scummy companies experimented with microtransactions and other mobile game practices. These these methods became standard practice and with people preferring to just pay rather than play(due to laziness) it made millions into billions. Not only that but it meant that things that used to be box standard were now extras. So because big daddy Microsoft wants a piece of that ,sweet sweet, pie they did microtransactions in halo 5. it was scummy, annoying and contributed to ruining it. But now they are trying to be less invasive with it. The system will never have halo reach progression, as that would mean jettisoning their monetization. But if we give feedback we might be able to have something that they will make money on, but isn’t screwing us the players to the enth degree.
