This game needs one final update.

I understand that 343 is allocating their resources to Infinite and the the MCC, but if they want Halo 5 to last until Infinite, these few, but dire changes need to happen:

  • Heavy aim/hit registration needs to be fixed. Both seem to be intertwined. It’s probably connection related. Some days you drill the other team with back to back 5 shots. Others, it costs you the match. This is definitely the most important issue right now. - We need one or two more maps for every gamemode. Or maybe one exclusive map for each: one for 2v2, 4v4, and ffa. - 2v2 competitive should be the standard for every ranked gamemode. No automatics, no radar, and no abilities. The sounds are more than adequate to hear the enemy. You don’t even need the radar powerup in Head to Head. I use a cheap, 30 dollar headset and I can hear guys thrust from across the map. - Legendary Warzone firefight is fine the way it is, but Mythic could use a slight rework. One of three things should happen in my opinion.
  • Deactivate the black eye skull. It’s almost impossible to melee an alien without dying. You’re constantly running around one shot. It makes the game feel tedious when you have to haul -Yoink- to cover to cover. - Nerf the bosses’ health or add a damage multiplier when all of your teammates are dealing damage. This would encourage afk players and those with sub par reqs to shoot at something. - Cut the respawn time in half
  • This is a nitpick and not important, but maybe new weapon skins, or a color wheel like we have for our armor for different parts of each gun.That is all.

There is one thing I ask for with this final update: allow us to play as ANY one of the 8 playable campaign characters in solo and co-op, the latter without anyone being forced to be Chief or Locke. I’d love to see those Fred% speedruns be a thing!

General:
Should bring Spring jump more into the game. Increasig the tiem to hit/releasen crouch/jump so its at least a little easier.

Heavy aim is mainly the console, input delay from the console itself and the controller which i believe is fixed in Xbox Series S/X.

2v2: Should bring back the old 2v2maps,atleast Molten. Playing the same maps that i already play in slayer and arena is not fun.

They already said years ago that there will be no more updates to H5. And they don’t really need H5 to last until Infinite considering they have MCC still being updated. That one will last until Infinite just fine.

I think mcc is holding up the franchise till November next year. They are working on that and probably won’t do anything more to H5

Well that’s unfortunate. The matches are completely one sided, ranks mean next to nothing, and your forced to play 3v4s or worse lest you get banned in the mcc. There are those of us that still play H5.

That and reverse the weapon tuning update that ruined the balance of the weapons and made the magnum better than every other precision weapon.

Yeah, even though they’ve said they’re not updating the game anymore I’d still like to see one final update with bug fixes/weapon tuning and things like that.

They need to remove Spartan charge, ground pound, Autos, and use the HCS settings (no splinters/ modified radar) in every playlist. There’s a reason that the gameplay is so much more fluid, precise, and diverse in the Team arena/ 2v2 playlists.

Take the energy sword/ gravity hammer out of the slayer maps like Refuge, Truth, Torque. People abuse the OHKO ability + sprint + spartan charge + advanced movement. Or, make it like the flag runner where you cannot sprint with those weapons equipped. Buff the sword equip speed.

Make the BR less poop.

Matchmaking: Prevent Diamonds from having Plat 3 or lower placed on your team. The game meta at Diamond + has evolved beyond the scope of players in plat 3 or lower. There is a massive skill divide that statistics cannot show in terms of map movement, map knowledge, and map flow.

For example, being able to make the jump from yard to top orange is often make or break on Plaza. The devs need to understand and accept the notion that Match Integrity > Finding a match at all. The quickest way to lose a player/customer is to waste their time.

What keeps me from playing this game non stop (like a hobby game) is that I feel relegated to Team Arena and Solo queue TA. I like a balanced shooting experience, I like playing better players, but I do not want to be gibbed by some low level nooblet who watches his radar with auto out so he can sprint around the corner to spartan charge me. I legitimately find myself exhausted from playing 1-2 games on non HCS due to the pure amount of cheese mechanics.

The devs will say 'but oh the user data shows us that’s it better from a player retention pov to keep autos/Non HCS settings". You know what devs, if from the get go you didn’t mismanage the series continually, if you didn’t have your cheese mechanics/weapons in place, if you didn’t try to use MM as a grind ladder to keep players in the game, if you actually listened - we the players, community, and devs wouldn’t be in this current predicament.

I disagree, the truth seems to me much better that they focus all their efforts on the MCC and not more on Halo 5
