If sprint is given to everyone by default, as it’s fair to assume from the trailer, this game may already be ruined.
In Reach, one of the biggest problems were the maps which were ruined because they were made to try and accommodate armor abilities.
Well, if Reach has sprint as default we’re going to have some terrible maps on launch day that don’t play well if you’re looking for a classic Halo experience.
You have barely any information about the game to come to this conclusion…
It’s amazing how you can see in the future and know all this.
Ahem
And second of all, sprint. It’s a problem within itself.
Don’t be so foolish to judge a game that isn’t even out yet.
They’re not going to change all the maps they’ve already made. It’s safe to assume this will be an issue.

This, and sprint is a good addition, IMO.
It looks like Sprint at THIS point in time is a default feature, and not an AA.
So, this said, I’m confident the maps will be made with sprint in mind. Jumps, maneuvers, lines of sight, etc…
The problem with Reach was that it tried to cater to all AAs. Bungie couldn’t know what AA people would use, because players are unpredictable. If Sprint is default in Halo 4, 343i will at least to be able to balance maps out for sprint.
Games like Star Wars Battlefront,Battlefield,Gears of War, Crysis, Unreal Tournament,Rage,Army of Two ,ect… have sprint or running abilities by default. These games are not ruined by this feature.

Haha, oh, no it’s not. How could you ever be so ignorant and hasty to come to that conclusion?
You shouldn’t be worried about sprint. If anything, its an improvement over Reach that sprint is default because that would prevent random gameplay.
What you should be worried about is the progressive unlock system. In every Halo game prior to Reach, players started off on equal footing. Changing that is far more detrimental to competive gameplay than sprint as skill isn’t needed when you have alreay better weapons/armor than other players before you spawn in the game

I’m worried about that as well, but at least it’s possible that it’ll be implemented in a way that doesn’t change much.
I hate sprint because it causes unpredictability and allows people to get out of situations they shouldn’t be able to.
Honestly I think sprint with no AA’s would be good for the game.

In its current form, yes. But if taking damage slowed or stopped sprint altogether, then it would force opponents to strafe and confront their opponent
It also seemed to like movement speed was greatly increased compared to Reach so there wouldn’t be as big of a speed difference, and hence, less chaos in that respect. As far as maps are concerned, the map in the vidoc looked like Narrows so Im pretty optimistic about maps
Sprint ISN’T an issue.
Ive never had issues with people running off. I just hunt them down and finish them off.
Yes, i agree that taking damage should stop the act of sprinting
Besides, nothing with what we’ve seen now is set in stone.

Yeah like thats true. They just say that to keep you buzzing on the forums for change. Will you get it? No. There is enough pollution in the halo fanbase now asking for crap like sprint and armor abilities that they won’t get rid of it
Is it true? That 343 doesn’t even hear their community/fans Ideas? Is it also to late for your Halo 4 Ideas to be heard?

You must not play much. I get guys that as their one shot and I chase to finish the kill 2 of his buddies get me. Or in a 2v1 one of them runs off and when hurt and I don’t get the kill I should have got and instead get a death. Same with AL. About to get a kill, and he goes in and 2 guys come and finish me off. Or in FFA we hurt each other, he AL’s, I get finished off then he comes put and dies giving someone nearly 2 free kills, usually a double kill.
yes sprint may or may not be a problem (in my opinion its fine) but look at it this way…no more health packs!!!
