This game looks great

Time to give Halo 4 some love.

As a PC gamer, let me say this: Halo 4 is one of the best looking games on the Xbox. Dynamic shadows, smooth-as-hell animations, GOD RAYS (Has there been another console game to do god rays?). And not only that, but the art style is truly amazing. The game has a real sci-fi look to it, and I love it. It hits the sci-fi feel that I think Halo CE was aiming for, but got washed down with “realism” with each installment. I have to add, the game has fantastic color. The red and blue Spartans are very vibrant, and the look of the backgrounds that Chief is featured in look very saturated. I say bravo, as I’m a stickler for color in video games (Realistic =/= Washed out colors).

The look of everything, it’s not exactly on par with Bungie’s art direction, but it definitely looks Halo. 343 is making this their own game, and that’s good for them. The gameplay looks Halo, but with a new spice to it. It’ll be the Halo we know, but modernized.

And don’t get me started on the music. Marty, I think you’re going to have some competition here. The announcement trailer at E3, the concept art trailer, and the more recent First Look ViDoc… The music is downright astounding. It has a Halo feel to it, but it’s something new entirely. It makes me feel emotions of excitement I haven’t felt in a while. Mystery; the excitement of exploring a completely new realm, but as the familiar character we all know and love. It’s like the equivalent of Link journeying to Termina in Majora’s Mask.

I trust 343 entirely with my favorite franchise. Honestly, I’m about excited as a salamander walking through the desert for 2 days who just found water, and I can’t wait for more info. After the (somewhat) disappointment of Reach, Halo can only get better, and from what I’ve seen so far, Halo 4 has potential to be my favorite Halo game yet.

I agree. I think 343i has put together an amazing team, and this game will look awesome. Just the little gameplay we have shows that! Wraparound, being kissed by the heavens, Warhouse, a new look on industrial maps. The story behind these maps sound pretty good too.

Halo 4 will be 343i’s Halo, and so far I’m liking it.

It’s offical. Halo 4 really does look the best. a PC gamer likes the graphics! lolol

As far as console graphics go, Halo 4 is like LOL what the -Yoink- is Battlefield 3?

I think this is going to be a great game as well, hopefully that next big Halo game like 2 and 3 were; that has a very VERY strong community and will be played as much at launch as the day before the next installment.

Thank god there’s someone in the community left who isn’t -Yoink- ing; I agree OP, Halo 4 looks great. But on that note:

Halo 4 is destined to fail, but not because it will suck, but because this community, at least at the moment, is too divided and too conservative. If anything kills Halo, it’ll be the community.

If 343 revives Halo? I will love them forever.

Graphically, Halo 4 looks smexy in terms of close-acute design and this largely mimics, Halo: Reach’s. Reach was one of the best looking games out there but lacked the Trilogy vibrance of saturated colours as such. Look at close detail at a Grenade Launcher in Reach and you’ll see what I mean.

Anniversary’s satuarated colours looked great but they didn’t delve too much to closer detail but I can excuse this as this was Saber Interactive working with a dated engine as such.

Halo 4 now just needs a skybox and terrain that mimics Valhalla/Forge World and I think I’ll double my offers for the game.

Think it was great idea to give reason for why reds can fight blues even if it is all for bit of fun to the game.

It’s nice to see people appreciating the game and not bashing it all the time.

This thread… I don’t even… SO MUCH WIN!

Same.

I couldn’t agree more, the game looks absolutely amazing! Epic bright colors and GOD RAYS FTW!

343i have done great job of the visuals the game looks like it could be next gen console release

The graphics are indeed amazing. While not as noticeable as the improvement from Halo 3 to Reach, it’s still a lot better. I’m especially amazed by the lighting. From what I’ve seen, it’s at least on par with Battlefield 3, at least I see no big differences.

But to be honest, I find it hard to say much about the graphics as thirty seconds of short gameplay clips hardly show anything. For example, we can’t see a lot when it comes to texture resolution. To truly see how good it is, we would need to get a close look at the surfaces.

but the game surely looks amazing. As it also sounds amazing, they only need to make it taste, feel and smell amazing. That’s a bit harder thing to do.

We don’t know much about it yet.

Does the cautiously optimistic dance

I think it looks amazing too, even better than Reach, which I thought looked great. And I’m excited to see what they’re going to do exactly with the multiplayer and gameplay in general. I mean, it will be something different, but I’m sure they’ve learned from Reach, and what worked and what didn’t.

And this is just Pre-Alpha, i wonder how much changes there will be between pre alpha and final. I don’t expect large because the prealpha graphics looks to amazing.

Kudos to the 343 team.

Halo 4 is easily one of the best looking games on consoles.

Hell some even though the footage was CGI because it looked too good.

I love you Halo 4 and 343

I think 343s art direction is awesome.

Make it feel more science fictiony. Bungie’s art direction felt too modern for the 2500s.

Couldn’t have said it better

I’m right there with you.

343i was operating secretly while Reach was the forefront. They’ve had a few years to tinker their decisions and work on this beast.

It’s going to be amazing. I’m fully confident in 343i.
