This game isn’t fun

I had medium hopes, the current game feels slow and boring. The maps aren’t fun, the weapons feel cheap. I don’t see this game being relevant 1 month after it’s released in it’s current form. I know it’s a beta, it just feels out dated.

I concur. However my reasons for it being bad are completely different from yours lol.

I just feel like halo 2 or 3 feels better than this and it’s 2021.

That is something we would actually agree on. Gunplay in infinite is atrocious.

insurgency sandstorm released this week on console. It has 0 aim assist from what I can tell. Doesn’t even have a targeting reticle. but the gunplay is buttery.

I think infinite’s greatest most damning flaw is the gunplay.

my main difference with your reasons is that you say it’s slow. I think Infinite is too fast and twitchy for halo.

Completely agree. I dont feel its slow at all. If anything its like H5’s twitchiness

Also agree that the gunplay is really poor. IMO TTK is very very quick…and starting weapons seem too OP in 4v4

Then go play halo MCC……

Yup. I have a litany of other issues with infinite but the gunplay being the most basic aspect is the standout issue. Even after extensive tweaking it just isn’t comfortable. I feel like I’m fighting my joystick to aim.

Insurgency sandstorm while a milsim FPS far different from halo, has incredible gunplay for a PC to console port. It’s what console PUBG should have been.

I’m shocked halo a game that should be designed for Console first, feels worse than a hardcore milsim PC to console port.

I totally recommend trying insurgency by the way.

That’s not the point. Most players regardless of franchise, will go back to an older version of the new one doesn’t hold up. I personally do not like this game. Maybe it’s because I skipped out on playing online multiplayer halo since reach, but this feels like a generic FPS game with a halo skin over it. The jump mechanic which made Halo unique is gone. TTK is so slow. By no means am I asking for a COD paced game, but for me it feels so long even in a vehicle. I will say I was worried when I first saw the grapple, but after using it and seeing it in action I don’t think it will be an issue

I agree Infinite is underwhelming, but for opposite reasons. Too fast and similar to H5, not enough like CE or 2 for my tastes

Feels? They are better though. These games are timeless and 343 will never be able to compete. Infinite is a joke.

Agreed…IMO it feels a lot like 5…but without trusters every 2 second

IE: Why have slide…it does nothing

That’s what we’ll likely do… its just disappointing Infinite is this way, since it would’ve been nice for the new Halo to have been great so we could’ve moved on from 1-2 decade old games lmao, but 343i doesn’t want to make a masterpiece like Bungie games and instead wants to appeal to CoD kids

am i the only one that actually likes halo infinite more then the previous games? everything feels like halo and the huge supplies of new weapons makes me super excited to see more. The gunplay also feels responsive and fun so personally i think it has the potential to be the best halo game under HCE and H2.

If you think this game is slow I can’t imagine how you feel about any other Halo besides 5.

I agree, I’ve played since the beginning and been playing MCC since it came to PC. Infinite feels sharper and more fun to play. TBH it’s tough to go back.

It feels like CoD with a Halo mod installed. If I wanted Space CoD, I’d play Infinite Warfare lol
Seriously, though, it looks like Halo but really isn’t capturing the Halo fun for me. I was hoping it would be more of a throwback to the old days of H1/2/3.
The guns feel off. Like, they feel “ok” in the firing range but in battle I just never feel like they’re doing the damage they’re supposed to or that hits look like they’re hitting but they aren’t. Not to mention the aim/auto aim feels horrible. There are games where I’ve turned off auto aim because it drags off targets if two are near each other. There are some games where it’s better with it on… But I honestly can’t even tell what Infinite is doing. I’ve seen it kind of stick on someone a tiny bit when I set my deadzones to 0… But then I have a tiny bit of drift even on a brand new controller.
The radar is atrocious. Again, if I wanted to play CoD, I’d go play CoD. Radar has always been a thing in Halo unless you’re playing SWAT. 18m is disappointing, especially with there being larger maps. Assuming it even works, since I’ve had a group of 3 people sprint around a corner and I had no idea they were there. Maybe they need different game types for changing how the radar works? Like, swat just shows when running/shooting, and swat pro has none? I know I have seen some people say they prefer the new radar, but feels like those are people who prefer something like CoD.
I will say, on the Series X it looks absolutely amazing… But I’m really torn on how I feel about the gameplay. I want to like it so badly… I have every Halo game collectors edition, but this one I’m probably going to just Game Pass it unless I see them address some changes

“Slow” I agree with. But I think the maps are pretty good. I have fun in general.

I have a tendency to compare it to my “ideal” Halo game. Which is silly of me because obviously then I’m gonna be disappointed. When I compare to the existing games I think this is my 3rd favourite MP.
What would make this game more fun to me would be, slower kill times, better aim control on gamepad, further motion tracker range, sprint that actually does something, and less long range automatic gun-play. Then we’re talking top tier halo for me.

Ok tough guy, just giving my opinion. Clearly I can go play something else.

why are you comparing a milsim game to halo that is not a sim game (im level 71 on insurgency on xbox)

The game feels like it’s setting up the game pass for success but by sacrificing some basic features that were there in past halos. The multiple announcers don’t feel natural anymore like they were in halo 5. The focus of “double kill” seems more pushed back, which is not the best for me. The armor mods I dig so far but the set colors per rank seems a little demanding of the game. It’s always been the little things about halo that make it halo for me, the beta so far is missing these little details. Holding on to hope that this game is intentionally holding these back but I fear that’s not the truth.
-Spartan slamming needs to be back
-the boosts from halo 5 I wouldn’t mind returning to add speed to movement.
-slow the general game down more, no need to have multiple walls to climb up just to feel sweet.

  • it’s master chief, he’s #1 yet I feel the suits are getting weaker.

No complaints, just speculation, I will be playing this game with a smile on my face either way. It’s the little details that make the game last a while! Excited to find out.
