This game is unbearable without a party team.

No one seems to capture objectives, no one seems to know the definition of teamwork, betrayal seems to be the way to go, there is no such thing as communication, there are no options to put on communication settings in this game either, what’s going on man? There is barely anyone using a Warthog unless it’s a Gauss Warthog. Anyway it just feels like your team is going to get Steamrolled if you don’t have any friends playing with you and it shouldn’t feel like that. It would be nice if someone could yell out the enemy has a Sniper with Active Camo, or know where the Gauss is, or if someone on our team has the tank. Even indicators to know that your teammate has died and we don’t go rushing into an area thinking it’s clear. It feels like this game doesn’t promote any real “teamwork”.

You can thank personal ordnance for that, selfish gamestyle, all about the K/D now and finishing commendations; ridiculous.

I’m starting not to like this game because of this. I remember Halo used to be about skill. There’s just too much going on in this game. And I hate this join in progress crap it actually promotes quitting than helping. People are so quick to steal assassinations but not quick to help assist in taking out a Banshee or Wraith.

Exactly this. I cannot begin to tell you the amount of stupid people I’ve come across online. I would play with friends, but hardly any of them want to play the game for the same reason.

8/10 times when I play with my friends, we win. But I only win like…2/10 times with randoms. It’s ridiculous that I or anyone else get paired up with people well below, and rarely higher than what myself and my friends are.

I know I’m not the best player in the world, but I know better than to charge full force with an empty Warthog into a -Yoinking!- enemy base…

Pro Tip: It’s not just this game that happens in. Every Halo game has been more fun with a party of friends over random matchmaking players.

Or better yet when you finally get a hold of a flag only to be betrayed a few feet away from scoring, awesome 10 year old teammates!

Pro tip it shouldn’t be so difficult to play with people who are supposedly your skill level. Common sense says of course it’s more fun, but I shouldn’t be struggling to win just because the enemy team is such a dominate overpowering force. I should not have to resort to FFA Majestic or Regicide to play by myself. I play a team setting to play with teams not everybody goes Gunho free for all with colors.

You’re right, it’s not. But most games are predictable. I could go on any game/server in Battlefield 3. Not once have I come across anyone in BF3 who has:

  • Teamkilled/Betrayed me purposely
  • Purposely incapacitate my vehicle
  • Get in the way of my fire/scope

All that says to me is that BF3 has a more mature community, though that’s just based on my personal experience. I know I could pop in BF3 and have a couple of friendly games. I don’t lose all the time because my Team drags me down.

Hell, I’m crap at that game so if anything I’d be the one dragging them down. :stuck_out_tongue:

Why should I or anyone else be paired up with these ‘slow’ people that are SUPPOSED to be at the same level/similarly skilled as me? I’d love to enjoy Halo 4 more, but at this point 343’s lack of support (which looks to be ending) isn’t what is putting me off the game. It’s the crappy community.

And before someone acts super offended. I don’t mean EVERYONE in the community. Stop nitpicking.

It also brings me to my next point High Party teams should just be paired up with other party team members. A good party team will almost always destroy a team of randoms. It’s frustrating, I usually play with friends and when you play by yourself in this game you see a huge difference in gameplay. And for some reason I keep getting tossed into games where people are losing by half the points of the other team come on man that’s not fair especially since leaving counts as a loss.

funny I play mainly solo. And have for the majority of my 1k+ games.

The solo play was me in Ranked matches in Halo 3 and Invasion in Reach. This game is not so teamwork heavy as I thought it was.

None of my friends play Halo 4, so I’m always playing solo. Yes it’s pretty difficult. You can’t rely on your team to back you up in this game, unless you’re with a party.

It is the worst in Objective. Nobody seems willing to sacrifice themselves for the cause (e.g taking a death but extending the enemy flag timer). It’s disappointing but what do you expect from a game where absolutely nobody talks and anybody that does talk gets muted immediately.

Makes sense, right? That’s exactly why it will never be introduced. I’d hazard a guess that the makers of the game never ever play solo and so are never subjected to these kinds of conditions.

Which is why I totally discount things like K/D as a measure of skill. When playing as a random the difficulty is hiked massively compared to playing in a full party where callouts, backup and teamwork are standard.

Worst I ever got was when I was put into a CTF game on the losing team at 4-0, everybody on my team had quit and the enemy was in the process of capturing the final flag. I immediately quit.

I think I’m at about 200 quits by now.

That means you’ve been struggling for a long time

Pro tip: Add an actual incentive to win and see what happens with teamwork in random players. They might actually begin to communicate.

I honestly think only Battlefield does this well. I never did listen to people on mics on Halo, because I thought people would just complain or rage quit. I use the mic in Battlefield, and I hear a mature community. The occasional trash talking, yes, but many are team-oriented. Halo 4 doesn’t have any large scale maps in the size of Battlefield maps, so planning needs to be quick and organized.

I will only play this game with friends. Unfortunately none of them play it anymore.

Also what happened to the so called Title Update that was supposed to fix all these problems?

Alright, Waypoint team. We need to make the first step. We need to set an example.

We should all turn our mics (mute the people who annoy you), welcome your teammates and opponents in the lobbies and try to go for team-oriented gameplay. You will have much more fun socializing and of course, even perform better in the game.

I just don’t use my mic in Halo 4 because nobody else does. At the beginning of a game, I’ll be like, “Yo! What’s up? Let’s do this, red team! (gamertag) dude, cover me. I’m bringing this flag back to our base. You know, Halo 4 CTF is like Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up. Can’t drop the flag!”

You know I’m going to start using these forums to ask people to play because this is ridiculous.
