This game is literally just a time waster at this point

Don’t get me wrong, playing the game isn’t a waste of time. But every aspect of this game is designed to waste as much time as possible.

Actually, who am I kidding; playing this game IS. a waste of time. The only draw I or any of my friends have to play this game is the events. And even then, its still just a time waster. No new modes, no new maps, no forge, no customs games, no coop (and it’ll be a long while before that even sees the light of day). Meanwhile, we’re stuck here with an incomplete matchmaking service that forces us to twidle our thumbs while we wait around for the next interesting event to come a long and give us the opportunity to get new stuff for our spartan without shelling out wads of cash for this mediocre live service game that has yet to provide any type of live service.

Just like 2 new maps would make this game less miserable to dredge through.

Deep down, what video game isn’t a waste of time?

Truer words have never been spoken.

I cede my argument

Definitely has a freemium mobile game vibe to it. Which is sad. Gonna have ads soon at this rate lol

When the game launched, just BTB alone was more than enough to know how poorly the game was designed to be a waste of time.

The only thing Microsoft/343 have offered is a lame shop and a BP that the game was designed around that is literally barebone. The funny thing is, they think adding 2 maps to a barebone game is doing “great work”.

How do you go from creating Halo 4 that if I’m correct was a complete game when it released to the complete opposite as time moved on with Halo 5 and even worse with your 3rd release?

Aren’t games supposed to improve over time, not get worse over time🤦‍♂️

Honestly, I turn Halo on for the same reasons I would play that bubble wrap popping game on my iPod touch in highschool. Bored mind-numbing taskss to give me something to do. Not how a game should be designed or played.

I mean, it is, but no more or less than its ever been. That’s kind of the reason I play the multiplayer to begin with: It doesn’t require a huge investment of mental energy or time.

Campaigns are a slightly different aspect such that I play missions like watching an old movie I like. But even that is just a way of taking a load off my brain after a long day.

If I want to play something with more depth and time-consuming minutiae, I’d buy Elden Ring or something. But I ain’t got time for that when I work 50 hours a week just to keep my children housed and fed.

But we want to have FUN when wasting our time with video games… with Infinite there is mostly frustration…

But they ARE improving duuuhh. Shiny new graphics = objectively better game, dont you know that??

Who cares about function and content? Surface level appeal is the only thing that matters anymore.

It’s the truth looking at how some think this is how a game is supposed to be created, and they are actually trying to defend this mess :man_facepalming:

Games present some very interesting challenges from a computer science standpoint… I realize this applies to a certain subset of people and that generally speaking consumption of entertainment isn’t super productive in the traditional sense. Regardless, games can present/frame the nature of a serious puzzle outside the context of some dry pedantic piece of scholarly work only academics read because understanding the nuances of the problem requires esoteric knowledge.

I mean you’ll still have a publication containing proofs with mathematical symbols that might as well be enchantment language. But the game is the vehicle for science - trying things and documenting down the results - and can help frame the problem in terms and concepts Players can digest without questioning their life decisions as they learn to perform analytic proofs.
