At least 2042 doesn’t have desync and ping issues… that seem to get worse with each update like in Halo. Halo is not like it used to be… Halo 2 days was halo perfect net code, dual weapons, lock on rockets, awesome guns, everything just worked. I find myself never able to pull off anything new in Infinite… like for one the maps in 4v4 are designed for people to be able to go around you 6 different ways. Halo was always about getting map control and power ups… now it’s literally about I wonder if I will have a good connection to the server… oh my ping is over 45 it’s gonna be a bad game, oh not to mention I get teammates that are first time players vs onyx. Yeah good job 343 you managed to mess up again… everyone talks about content they need to fix the net code issues I don’t care about content if that isn’t fixed then any new map, mode, etc will just feel so annoying because you have to continue to deal with it… it’s 2022…
Infinite is 7th in mid season 1 with no new content, vanguard 15th in en-us at start of season 2. Different per region. Would be nice to have real numbers. Also sad that 3 of the top 15 are cod lol.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a public player record which could be used to determine the actual player population. On the other hand, it should be noted that the statistics from Steam may not be fully representative for the total population.
On the other hand, I have unfortunately not been able to play Halo Infinite (or any other Halo games for that matter) in the last month due to reasonings unrelated to the game. But, it should be noted that I would consider Halo Infinite to be a truly enjoyable Halo game and a game worth playing.
Nearly 100k tuned into HCS Winter. Nothing to see here folks.
How.many of those tuned in just for the twitch drops? Until we know that number than 100k doesn’t really hold weight
To make a proper comparison, a more reasonable approach would be to see if there has been an increased or decreased interest of the twitch drops from HCS Anaheim compared to the twitch drops from HCS Raleigh.
Twitch drops.
For a game they play.
You get that right?
Yes but you keep mentioning the numbers as if they matter. If the twitch drops weren’t there then those same people would still be playing the game but not watching the stream which is why using the stream is not a good way to gauge how the game is doing
Okay okay, let’s… Let’s read this again.
Almost 100,000 viewers.
Let’s examine this.
Okay, so that’s one piece. Then those players…
…Would still be playing the game…
Which means…
Nearly 100,000 people would be playing the game.
But who was there for the twitch drops? We don’t know that number. And just because 100k people watched doesn’t mean 100k people are playing all at the same time.
Okay.
So tell me.
Why are 100k people trying to get drops for a game they don’t play?
I’m not saying they don’t play it. I’m saying that stream number isn’t a good way to gauge how the game is doing. Why? Because all it takes is a couple of clicks to start watching. It’s not like you had to do an ultimate challenge for it
The prospect of returning to play it at some point by collecting a drop on a streaming platform isn’t the same as an actual population.
So if you’re not saying they don’t play it - ergo - 100k DO play it, then what are you saying exactly? Because quite frankly, you’ve told us several times now that yes, at least 100k people are playing Halo: Infinite.
Your bringing up the number to show that Halo infinite is doing great. I’m saying that this one stream doesn’t show how the game is doing regaurdless of who is playing and who is not.
You mean the most important stream for Halo since the last HCS?
Anyway, you’ve argued my point for me and I don’t have to engage further to illustrate my point. I appreciate it.
My thing is. If I were to do this when Halo 5 HCS came out people would say the same thing to me. That streams for HCS don’t show or gauge how the game is doing.
A good way to put it is streamers getting trashed on. There are times where people watch the stream just to watch them fail. It’s also like a bad video on YouTube. Sure it may have millons of veiws but that doesn’t mean it has a high likes compared to dislikes
I expect most were tuning in for the drops.
That’s still 100k players who are invested enough in the game to be chasing skins to use in it - I’d say that’s a good thing.
Sorry, just seen someone else has already made this point.
Elden ring is possibly going to remove more players if that kicks off.
Halo infinite isn’t even set to have another event, basically more time gated unlocks till March 8th.
Usually a live service game has something interesting every week or at least stuff that last a few weeks in between seasons.
I don’t really think 343 understands what a live service is though.
Essentially 343 just took away stuff and is slowly giving it back mostly through the store and just calling that a love service.
