Why else show a demo for the game showing off its graphics? In the past, most game demos have been used to introduce the story and gameplay. But the one for Halo Infinite is used show off its engine. Another hint that its going to be open world is in its title, the word “Infinite”, which means the ever expanding overworld that they plan to introduce into the base game, only to add more areas to explore with each update that they release.
It was showing off the new engine as a tech demo so that wouldn’t be out of the ordinary. Edit: I sort of read your post wrong, but yeah, showing off a huge map and graphics could be an indication. Another clue not mentioned is 343 are looking to hire people with RPG and open world experience on their career page.
yea they seem to hint at open world which could be interesting to explore a halo ring in that type of game if done right so I hope 343 knows what they are doing
They were just showing off their engine they’ve been building for the last 3 years (why the game isn’t finished). I just feel like they wanted to give us more than a CGI teaser but weren’t ready to show gameplay. There’s not enough evidence to outright claim this game is going to be open world.
I say because it’s an entirely new engine. But maybe!

right so they decided to show us what the game would look like in-engine
Personally I believe that they just wanted to show the level of detail that they can now show using this new engine, not meaning open world. Although all the wildlife throws me off a bit.

Well then its pretty much confirmed that Halo Infinite is going to be open-world.

well the original concept of halo CE had wildlife look up the e3 trailer from 2000
Going more back to halo ce

lot of callbacks to that and 3
People. It is WAYY to early for speculation. The game is still 2 years away. Nothing of note has been released except for a teaser.
Dont over speculate. Remember when people were “confident” Halo 3A would happen?

I really hope it isn’t open world.Halo 4 and 5 but more so halo 4 were made to draw in fans of other fps franchises, now if your saying it’s gonna be open world like halo 1 where you can explore a lot but it’s still a linear campaign, then that’s fine,if you mean it’s gonna be like a fall out open world type game with side quests then I would say dear God please no.Stick to what you do best.If it ain’t broke don’t fix it
I hope it’s not but at the same time I haven’t seen it yet so my mind could change. I don’t know, I kinda want the mainline series to have the traditional linear campaign and use spin offs to explore other genres like open world.
With the little that was given in the SlipSpace engine demo it looked really good. Personally If I were going to wish for things, I would love it if it had the big maps to explore around like CE. Jump in warthog and cruise around. I also hope they put skulls, easter eggs and funny Grunts in the game. CE was fun to get a sniper rifle and sneak around in the rocks and pick off Covenant at really long distance.
All in all, I’ll like whatever 343 does. Just getting a new game will awesome.
I really hope that is NOT going to be an open world game. I ant big levels like Halo CE, but bigger!
I just think that an open world halo ring would get boring, as you would pass the same places and fight the same enemies in the same locations. We don’t a ‘Destiny-style’ game where you have to go through the same area to get to a new one.
Have the entire game on the Halo ring sure, but make it a good 12+ missions that are in huge areas.
I’d kill for a open world Mass effect style Halo with a hub world for our multiplayer Spartans and some coop open world MP for our Spartans too.
the way i see it, slipspace has been made for quiet some time. Id imagine they are gonna use this engine for more then just one game.
With that said, halo infinite might not be open world; BUT perhaps another game down the line involving the halo universe in the concept of an RPG or some sort of open world MMO where we are our own spartan could take place ? Almost like 343’s take on a destiny-esk game.
All just a brainstormed idea, not facts.
I’m guessing large levels and large scale battles, but not open world. 343 has no fee about going back to a more classic design, going open world is the exact opposite.
