You know what? I don’t visit here often enough and see any kind of real positivity here on the boards.
I can Admit my posts do consist of talking about what I miss in the Art Direction a lot, but this game is brilliant. I feel like some of the people here who call themselves fans are spending a lot more time focusing on the negative, almost to the point of insanity, The Development team can’t make the game to everyone’s speciation’s, wants, and needs.
I really like this game more so than I really thought I would. I like the music, the gameplay, the campaign was fun, the multiplayer was IMPRESSIVELY better than anything else I’ve seen in any game for a long time, and Spartan ops…well it was a good idea.
I mean I know I’m going to get flack for this, but I feel like most of the people who are nit picking over “true skill gap” and the lack of it being “Halo 3” or the “Halo 3 BR physics” are just kind of butt-mad about people having fun.
I mean hell, I’m still impressed I can drive every vehicle in the game, that’s just awesome. That blew my mind in Halo the first time I played.
Its a fun and fantastic game.

YES! FINALLY! A POSITIVE POST ABOUT HALO 4! MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED! HALLELUJAH! GESUNDHEIT! WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!
…what’s sad is that I’m dead serious. There’s so much (mostly) unjustified hate for this glorious game, I think there are only five other people besides us who like it.
> I mean hell, I’m still impressed I can drive every vehicle in the game, that’s just awesome. That blew my mind in Halo the first time I played.
What Halo 4 are you playing, because clearly it’s better than what I got?
Love Halo 4, as a story fan I loved the Campaign, judging Bungie only made two games where I liked the story (CE and ODST) but I loved Halo 4’s, SpOps also added a ton of replayability whilst Firefight and Matchmaking don’t, so just playing Halo’s campaign gets boring fairly quick

Nah, you come to realize that the people who like the game are mostly just playing the game. The majority of Waypoint’s factions are the people with spare time, the interest of debating or discussion, the interest of community interaction, constructive criticizers, and the haters who can’t stop -Yoinking!- about stuff. Currently there are a lot of the last two…

SpOps can be dry, but some missions are fun, especially when you actually act like a legitimate team and strive to not be killed.

I tend to play alone, but I enjoy the missions (especially episode 10 chapter 3, that’s a great vehicle based level)

^That whole last half of that last sentence.
LOL.
Well most of us fans take issue with the direction 343 took Halo. Personally I feel Halo doesnt need scorestreaks, perks, loadouts. Fact is other games handle these features better .
Question is would Halo 4 be better without ripping these features? When a dev decides to do what is popular, their product comes off generic. Its generic because its not done as well as the originator and deludes the core of the source material.
I dont know if anyone played Crysis 1 MP but it was something special. Huge maps, vehicles, large scale battles, very unique. Think BF3 with power suits. Crytek decides to scale everything down, add perks and kill streaks. Resulting in a somewhat forgettable experience in C2&3. Change is not good when you change greatness.
This is what Halo is to me. Once a great Arena Shooter with an insane amount of customization, great Co Op experience, reduced/changed for no apparent reason. 343 didnt improve any aspect of what made Halo great.
Its cool if you like it. Just remember 343’s philosophy when creating H4 was to make everything easier and pretty much revamp Halo’s core(remember GDC).

I respect your opinion except for how you say Halo 4 has less customization than its predecessors. It has the most armory customization than any Halo, it has loadouts, and it has a decent amount of custom game/forge options.
Of course I could be mistaken and you meant something else though.

While I don’t Agree with you (mostly), I respect you for enjoying the topic enough to respond without ripping my head off (Mortal Kombat style) and using another classic title to back up your reasons. your sir, are a classy gentleman of the 343 forums. I tip my hat to you.

I take it that he meant the actual game and all the missing custom games options.

Armory is fine, I guess. There are plenty of options, but I think most helmets are plain ugly. Still I do agree with you there.
Some Loadout options in Halo hurt the core gameplay. Choosing Primaries is a good idea but secondary and nades affect other aspects of what made Halo great. Spawning with Plasma Pistol and Plasma Nades makes vehicular gameplay less effective than previous games.
I could go on about AAs but thats more of a personal issue.
Forge and Customs are seriously lacking compared to previous games. I will say its has more custom options than most games but FAR less Reach.
Thats why I said 343 didnt improve on what made Halo great. They reduced certain things like Forge and Customs while changing Halo’s core with Loadouts and Personal Ordnance.
Lol had no idea there was this much positivity of players since halo 4 came out.
This past 10 months was 70% hate and 30% fity fity.
Thumbs up OP!

This just made my day xD
ahem I agree 100% with the original post ^^
I loved every moment of my Halo 4 experience, and it wasn’t until weeks into Matchmaking that I finally came across things that irked me (Can we say Mongoose Destroyer?) but even those didn’t ruin the experience for me. Yes, I do miss some of the old music like ‘Rock anthem for saving the world’ and some of the custom games stuff and game modes like Assault, Invasion, Neutral Flag, etc… But overall I’ve been very pleased with Halo 4.

its easy to go insane when one has played h1-3, then has had to live through reach and h4 to find what a random cluster -Yoink- mess vanilla halo is now.
