They failed to appeal on multiple levels of the community. Just because they appealed to you, doesn’t mean that it isn’t a bad game.

Different strokes for different folks, just because it doesn’t appeal to you doesn’t make it a bad game,
It is a good game, but it needs a few fixes.
It has it’s good sides and it’s bad sides. It’s just that the bad outweighs the good. Don’t ever expect good stuff to be the face of anything when a good amount of bad accompanies it - that’s just how we humans are. You silly boi, 
But yes of course it is a great game. Also it was 343’s first go and it didn’t turn out too bad for the amount of negativity it receives on these forums.
Well, personally, I think this game is great. Between Gears Of War 3 and Black Ops 2, this games multiplayer Is actually pretty solid! Barely any lag, (unlike Gears 3 and Blops 2) and the hit ditection Is dead on! (also unlike Gears 3 and Blops 2) and I love Gears as much as Halo, so for me to bash Gears over something like that, It hurts.

I love Halo and Gears too, but I think there’s less laggy games on Gears, yesterday was horrendous on Halo 4.
343 is made up of a lot of very talented and experienced people from around the industry. I really doubt the validity of it being their first try at this point, honestly.
I actually love the gameplay, despite some flaws and balancing issues. Most of the flaws that irk me are outside of gameplay, such as the severe lack of Forge and custom game options, lack of theatre, and lack of regional filters.
I expect some of these errors have to do with the 360’s lack of processing power, and I’m expecting great things in Halo 5. It’s hard to think both Halo 3 and Halo 4 came out on the same system.

I don’t doubt you, but it shows how two different players can be affected in different ways by the same thing.

ie. American players = No lag
Any other players = lag
Halo 4 is a good game. It is the first game 343 have shipped as a full company so I can understand some issue with it.
But there are some things which I just look at 343 and think to myself; ‘The Hell bro?’ (This is mainly about flinch)
As a first game, it’s great, But they can do a lot better. A LOT Better.

That is not an excuse. They push this Halo far away from the Halo series. I don´t care if it´s the first or the second game from his company.

They removed good connection searching. Every single Australian I know has given up trying to play this game because of consistent frustrating lag. During Halo Reach we could play all night against fellow Aussies. Now with Halo 4, you get 70% American, Japanese, English, Mexican, even Russian hosted games with bullets that don’t register, enemies that teleport and grenades that don’t appear.
We wrote a 70 page thread with over 1500 votes and they didn’t fix it.
So after 10 years of loving this game every single one of my friends has moved on to other games, even though they’d rather be playing Halo.

Agree 100% glad there are others that feel the same. It’s not my favorite Halo but it is also not my least favorite I love it a lot and it is a welcome addition to the series and a much better entry than the previous two games.
