This game has not been marketed nearly enough

Look i love Halo. Ever since i played Halo CE for the first time i was hooked. Pretty much now until the end of time i will buy any Halo game and DLC game content without hesitation. But that’s cause i have been playing for nearly 10 years now. What about the new players?

From Halo CE to Halo Reach these were all chapters of the same book metaphorically speaking. Halo 4 is a new book its even made by a new game developer. The covenant War is over, you have the option of attracting new younger players.

I don’t remember if it was Halo 2 or Halo 3 but they had a tremendous viral/guerrilla marketing campaign. Did it not pay off? Because i have not seen even a single Halo 4 commercial, no YouTube adds, and the new mountain dew flavors aren’t even out yet.

Meanwhile the game has been expertly marketed on waypoint, on halo sites, a poster or 2 in every video game store, and a single xbox live ad. This isnt going to attract new players, this is going to attract people that have already played Halo games, most of which would have bought the game regardless of the hype cause we -Yoinking!- LOVE HALO!

There need to be TV commercials, youtube adds, billboards, a FREE xbox live avatar prop or premium theme. A FREE Halo minigame phone app that doesnt suck. You need exposure.

Why am I saying all this you may wonder? Cause you need new players, not just people that read video game magazines, and subscribe to waypoint. You see i want to be playing Halo 20 years from now on the next next gen console, and to do that your game studio needs money. You can have mine and all of the other fans cash but as the old guard dies out or grows out of playing video games you need the younger generation replacing them.

Whoever leads your marketing department should be fired, he/she -Yoinked!- up big time.

There is a live action trailer releasing soon, also they are doing tv advertisements (starting to roll out), they have the doritos and dew promotions and maybe others.

Do we really need another of these? Look, I’m sorry you haven’t seen much marketing for this game, but that’s your experience. I haven’t seen anything for Black Ops 2, or Assassin’s Creed III. Doesn’t mean the marketing doesn’t exist, nor does it mean their respective marketing teams are bad at their jobs.

I think Marketing comes pretty late before the game’s release. Even so, this Forward Unto Dawn is gaining tons of viewers, which itself already has YouTube ads.

And they’ll earn a considerable amount of money, don’t worry xD

While I agree that there could be a little more marketing, it’s definitely well known. Pre-orders don’t lie. I’d say it’s doing pretty damn well.

Almost 900,000 pre-orders in the US alone say otherwise.

If TV commercials don’t start rolling out in the next few weeks, then we worry.

TV commercials have started rolling.

I totally agree, I made a thread about this a couple days ago.

I havent even seen the mtn dew gamefuel yet (cherry citrus) and I want it now. The double xp. site is up and running but supplies of the double xp. products are spread far and thin. The gamefuel especially is scarce. nice product distribution job…

and actually, I have seen many commercials for Assassins Creed 3. Many all the time.

Halo 4 is a huge budget production, owned by microsoft one of the largest companies out there, so money is not an issue.

Besides there going to sell millions of copies of the game, so what gives?

David Fincher’s Halo 4 ads will air on October 18.

I find it kinda ridiculous that Xbox King not getting more attention than BO2.
Well that’s just me… I just hope Halo 4 at least beat it in its own turf.

really? I haven’t seen any. There would also be a youtube video showing the commercial, soooo?

The first tv ad is supposed to air oct. 18th during the jimmy fallon show.

And I haven’t seen any. Personal experience is not a solid basis for an argument. I work at a grocery store and see the Mt. Dew Gamefuel and double XP stuff everywhere.

See how our account are vastly different based on our personal experiences? People need to stop complaining about this and just be excited for the game.

A gamestop ad has been seen on TV by some users. I personally haven’t seen anything, but I generally don’t watch much TV, or don’t watch networks that would have video game related advertisement.

There should certainly be more marketing. BF3 wouldn’t have had anywhere near as many sales as it did if EA didn’t market it senseless.

Then again, if the game is good then it’ll eventually become more popular through word of mouth.

Not trying to brag but I have 6 cases of Game Fuel I found yesterday at my supermarket finally. It sells out so quick in upstate NY.

Maybe they are doing more advertising depending on region? I live near NYC… in NJ so I would expect gamefuel here now.

I have checked everyday in stores big and small, still not here. Only the regular mtn dew and doritos. I am upset because all I want is the game fuel.

I am excited about the game, just not pleased with how I can’t get game fuel…

ONLY place near me that has 12 packs of game fuel is Walmart, but I want bottles. The site advertises bottles, and a seven eleven app.

However, 3 different seven elevens I went to yesterday (in 3 different towns, yes I am crazy) did NOT have game fuel.

WTF
