My latest experience playing H5 was again, miserable… there’s always two guys behind you, you get a guy one-shot and the dude’s buddy comes out of nowhere to save the day.
Inconsistent aim, enemies eating shots… last night I had two games with like 10-14 assists or something, a handful of kills, and a bunch of complete bogus deaths… doing a ton of damage but little to show for it. Spawning away from teammates, while the enemy team is spawning together all match… and half the time they’re cleaning you up off-spawn.
It’s just so frustrating man… I’ve been a highest skill Onyx, consistently since launch and I’m getting wrecked by “Platinum’s…”
Great spawn system, great ranking system! Oh, and great servers! Everything just seems like it’s deteriorating more and more…
Well im pretty sure you weren’t the only one complaining in that game. I bet someone else from the other team was as well. Either way, nothing much we can do about it.
It isn’t a problem with the game. It seems more like a mental issue (I said this once on another thread and some people took it as me saying somebody was mentally disabled. Not what I mean by mental issue
If you go in playing and believing that everything is against you, you are going to struggle. Play some Octagon, get your confidence back and you will see major improvement.
Good luck and keep me updated on how you are doing through this thread

At least it’s better than playing TDM on CS:GO. You constantly spawn in front of an enemy and the moment you move, you’re killed.
That is bizarre because last night was a nightmare for me too. Hopefully it’s more of an anomaly. I have also noticed the quality of Platinum players is 10 fold what it was 6 months ago. So either boosting is getting even more trendy or people are simply improving at an impressive rate across the board.

Why is everybody saying platinum like it is a bad thing? BTW I am not platinum, just wondering why everybody is talking like being plat is horrible.

Platinum isn’t horrible but when I see 30K 2D Platinums it definitely creates suspicion. It’s not that they got that total it’s how. I have played Onyx players 2 months ago that were significantly less skilled than some of the Platinums lately. Last night was bad for me too but I just ran into bad luck with a lot of premade teams. Nothing like facing a 8 Team All-Star premade for BTB thrice. They had extreme map control knowledge, very good replacement player timing, cross fire points, etc. They also had spawn camp distance mapped out quite well too. They stayed disciplined to keep pushing certain spawns but were on you with multiple guns 3 steps into your spawn. Let’s just say this wasn’t their 1st rodeo as an 8 team squad.
Well if 343 fixes the problems of this game and stop making it so “competitive” i belive it will be one of the best games. Unfortunately they focus only in “competitive” and they forget about about the other problems. Just my oppinion.
(sorry for my english)

Plat players are just Gold players that can aim better. There isn’t that much of a difference of play when they aren’t that high of a skill level, especially when they don’t know the movement well enough.
Now I know what Nicole felt like. OJ Simpson (Champion rank) was finding us all. There was a 11-0 guy (Haterology) in this game whose highest rank is Gold. Yet he owns an insane career K/D and mad skills. It’s like some people didn’t want to have any rank on record so the system thinks it’s creating a balanced game when in fact that “Gold” plays more like an Onyx. I think this particular team was built for insane K/D’s in non ranked gaming (WZ and BTB) because almost all had career K/D over 2.00

Platinum is widely considered to be the entrance placement for anyone with a full understanding of the games basic core elements. Not to say that anyone below that doesn’t understand those things, but you don’t see many people with knowledge of spawns/timers/etc below gold one. So platinum, in a sense, is where the large majority of “average skilled” players sit unless they are unlucky enough to rank up out of gold when being placed there. (In early January/feb many players thought platinum was the lowest rank possible because of how hard it was to place below that even after losing 7/10 placements). It’s not that it’s being labeled as a bad thing to be plat, but the FAQ about ranks says Onyx is a “semi-pro” division. So losing to someone not in Onyx can say a lot about the involved parties and is usually done so in a negative fashion.
Side note, I once used a friends account to see how hard it was to get placed in bronze. I went 0/10 games won with 2 assists and over 100 death (0kills) and still got a silver 2 placement…

The learning curve has changed over the months, many platinum/diamond players now have the same skill as many low Onyx players. This makes it a bit harder to rank up to Onyx (where they belong) because of how many equally skilled under ranked players they encounter during the climb. Though, when the win streaks begin, they start playing against higher ranks with that same equal skill (I.E. You) and may win because they are better or have learned something you have yet to learn. And unfortunately for you, their current rank doesn’t reflect their current skill and you take a large loss penalty for losing to someone ranked 2 divisions below you (on top of possibly feeling a bit of humiliation and frustration if you do not understand why you lost to said under ranked players).

bro you literally took every frustration I have about the game and hit all the points. It such a buzz kill when all of this stuff happens every time you want to give the game a chance. I routinely play like 2 or 3 games and I’m already fed up and want to get offline. In my career playing halo I easily play for hours on end and have fun but H5 its definitely feels like a damn chore!
