An ugly duck, it’s clearly a swan
Looking at it this way (early access) is a good idea.
As time passes its important for people to continue to voice positive or negative feedback.
I’m sorry, I want a complete product for a complete purchase.
an early access that has a complete-game price tag. I don’t care if it’s “on game pass”, that doesn’t matter because that’s just a temporary license that you continually pay for. As a full priced game, this is not complete and should not be sold as such.
How do you quantify the “purchase” of this “product” currently?
I think while there’s a lot of features missing that the current ones are pretty smooth. Multi-player hasn’t been too buggy apart from the desync stuff. And campaign has been smooth. Its not like ultra unplayable buggy. So idk if those features weren’t expected I’d consider it a pretty good full release
Welcome to live service gaming. The game will be always in a state of early access or beta if you want to look at it that way. It will only ever be “complete” when they stop support for it in favor of the next title.
Exactly.
If it looks like it’s finished, but it’s not, then it’s not finished.
By looking at past releases and determining it gives far less content for far more money…and it’s really buggy.
It’s the sad reality that modern gaming has been corrupted by the touch of corporate interests.
Gone are the days where the devs have all the time they need to make a really good game and sell a product they are proud of.
Now making games is a statistic. It has to sell X copies. It has to make X money quarterly. Delays? Unacceptable. Crunch and kill your developers. All in the name of money.
Yeah. I meant in a psychological sense…I haven’t started playing yet.
I’m extremely disappointed, but hey it’s free beta multiplayer I guess.
I bypass all the armour and micro since I have Watchdog (152s are complaining it’s not the same as what was previously shown)
I didnt have to pay for campaign.
I’m gonna eventually dip my feets, wet my beaks lol.
But considering it early access may be what gets me over the hump. R.I.P Shock G. Long live humps and humpty hump.
Anyway, it’s a matter of time, but how long depends on the 343
Betas are supposed to include all features that the finished game will have but not balanced perfectly/not all bugs worked out. We are absolutely still in Alpha.
I play split screen multi with mates?
Oh shoot you are right. I would get the “this controller now controls the navigation” message and thought that it did not recognize two controllers. Good looking out.
Where is the Team Snipers playlist?! Not even one mention of it this whole time…
TBH I wonder when we will get Elimination too. I’m in no rush but it’s the only thing keeping me from 100% the achievements
Dude they had 6 years… Are you seriously going to pretend that they didn’t have enough time? No other Halo game to my knowledge had anywhere close to that amount of time, they even got a year delay.
No the reason the game isn’t content complete is because of poor management (Joseph Staten backpacking them) and probably feature creep (it is rumored that they cut like 2/3 of the Campaign, for example)
Its always been that way though. Games have always been created with the sole intention of making a profit. You think Halo has survived this long by not selling copies?
You do know they scrapped like two thirds of the game right? Joe Staten basically had to beg MS to give them time to remake Infinite.
And no, back then Halo was picked up by Bill Gates to sell the Xbox but they pretty much had a game already which Apple rejected.
And you know the rumours of the Halo 2 crunch? Which was why Halo 2 was split into H2 and H3. Imagine if they were allowed to finish H2 as they originally envisioned.
I see your point but I call it early access because a lot of past features are not in.
Destiny 2 is a live service game too. I would say it’s launch was complete as it kept all the features from the past game. D2 has it’s issues too, like over 50% of the paid content being deleted by bungie.
I understand that live service games get additional content added to them as time goes on. I do not think that features that Halo players have been used to for 20 years count as additional content.
Hopefully as the years go on we only get +'s and never get -'s (like Destiny 2).
Yeah this game will be half-finished for years like MCC probably.
Yeah I think for the people who are just getting into halo jumping in cluelessly about the future of infinite, there should be like a giant flashing disclaimer in the menu saying “more features coming soon”.
Of course I’m over exaggerating but I think that would get more new people to want to buy into the BP and buying cosmetics knowing that more features are coming
