This forum is absolutely proof Infinite is a disaster

I’ve been browsing Halo’s forums since some time before Halo 3 released, back in '06 or '07. And while it’s true there’s always been a fair share of complaining, the topics on Halowaypoint have consistently been overwhelmingly negative compared to Bungie.net.

Where there Bungie.net forums saw far more posts about lore, weapon balancs, cool gameplay ideas (many of which got shot down pretty quick), sharing fan creations, promoting forge creations, and discussing whether or not Valhalla counts as a Blood Gulch remake. Halo Infinite’s forums is a cavocade of very legitimate complaints about Infinite failing at almost every turn to be a good game.

Even Reach, which was at the time considered to have a lot of changes the community didn’t like, didn’t see anything close to the backlash that every Halo game under 343i’s development has gotten. You’d see topics about Bloom, Armor Abilities (particularly Armor Lock, Sprint, and Jetpack), Loadouts, the lack of shield bleed through, and why all of them were bad for the game. But you’d see just as much discussion about how much people love the Grenade Launcher, how the art style was phenomenal, and tons of theories about how Jorge and Six might have survived because people actually grew attached to those characters. There was still hype for every bit of post-launch content we found out was coming. (Something Halo 5 at least succeeded in was that last part)

With Infinite, its the exact opposite. Every thread is about how problematic this game is. Noone’s theorizing about the lore, instead we are all making fun of how bad the live service “story” has been so far. Every new piece of content revealed gets slammed because it’s not good, not fun, ships broken or in beta, or is just pushing more MTX on us and not actually giving us anything new to play with. This game is a failure. Period. And these forums are all you need to see to know that.

It’s unfortunately the sad truth. I’m just glad that I got to enjoy the early years when Halo was in its prime.

I remember seeing topics like personal AI’s for multiplayer back then too. Maybe in another dozen years they will get around to listening to the fans.

I think the proof is less in the content of the forums and more in the lack of activity.

I’d rather be playing the game instead of looking here, youtube reddit, or twitter for updates only to get sucked into the rabbithole. But the game is so dysfunctional, here I am.

That’s really all it is. A cash grab. Let alone the fact they made us pay real cash for stuff we could just earn free in previous titles.

Ight. Ima head out and play halo5. At least that game is more of a halo than this mess.

Late 2020 and 2021 H3 on MCC was a golden time too. I played so much great BTB and ranked 4v4 games all night with great server quality :grinning:

Dude I just got back to this forum but I think I’ma leave again. At this point either people decided to move on or stick around with more hope than the kid who thinks his dad’s coming back

Same for me too.
It’s always easier to complain about something rather than praise the positivity. I enjoy each Halo for what it is. Infinite is missing pieces, but the game flow and dynamics of the game are incredible. I have faith and believe in this future.

Ive moved on, honestly. I found a game that holds my attention very well with tons to do, explore and kill. Game that came out in 2019 with a rocky start, but now its actually an amazing game. Ghost Recon Breakpoint. If you guys havent played it, Id recommend giving that a go. Or GR Wildlands. Both games have amazing story and characters. Tons of guns and armor to find. Cosmetics for literal days. The whole game is your playground for everything. PvP, PvE, all there and all great. I think Ill stick on Ghost Recon for a while and check up on here every now and then. Just to see whats going on. I love Halo, but I feel we have many years before Infinite is a worthy game. Until then, be good everyone and dont sweat this mess. Only one of two things will happen with Infinite. A, git gud, or B, get Anthem’d. Either way, just move on to something you can actually enjoy.

Dude Ghost recon Breakpoints current model would have been such a great floorplan for Halo Infinite, especially their store model

Like imagine flying your team around in a pelican or falcon and doing air insert from high altitude no Parachutes just Spartans with no fall damage

Thats what I’m saying. 343 needs to get with ubisoft and ask for some pointers or something. Infinite has an amazing foundation, just nothing there.

I think it’s honestly to late for Infinite,

We have MW 2 around the corner, and it’s loaded with tons of content right out the gate,

It also has Split screen, Two PVE co op modes.
Ground wars and invasion… The weapon customization is great, we can change the skin on each attachment for one individual weapon. Basically like Ghost recon Breakpoint.

They have a whole progression system outside the battle pass, that is going to work between MW 2 and Warzone 2.0…

And they did this with multiple studios working from home and through zoom meetings… So many moving parts such short time… And all 343 has for us is a quality of life update roadmap 30 Tier battlepass of content that qas held back a Forge Beta with no file share… and the same empty campaign but no matchmaking so you have to go hunt for other players to join you and make.aure you don’t get booted cus you have to restart the whole damn thing. And back out completely cus they can’t just jump right into your game.
