This Forbes article did not age well

I think the game plays great and will just continue to get better. I’m looking forward to seeing what the game will have a year or 2 from now!

Forbes has quite honestly the worst takes known to man.

Their are AA studios making more money off of their properties than 343 is with Halo. Again, yesterday peaked at less than 4,000 players on steam. It is horrendous. They’re not even on the top 200! LOL

100% on the top brass. Ironically, Microsoft and Phil Spencer won’t fix the problem that they can fix…get new leadership.

The report date for Microsoft’s quarterly earnings is on July 26th.
Last Quarter the xboxlive segment reported 3% growth.
What we dont know is how much was spent making infinite, so 343 could be deep in the red.
And considering how much xbox is getting its butt kicked by playstation…
But it seems subscribers are up.
Expenditures for Microsoft are wayyyy up, yada yada
And kinda sorta included were the purchases of 2 aaa game studios.
Microsoft is playing the long game operating at a loss and buying competitors, it seems that Halo wont rescue xboxlive again, theyve accepted it, and have bought studios as a hedge

The only reason this game got any push at all is simply because it looked more like a Halo game should when it otherwise shares all the same serious flaws in terms of design on content as every other 343 Halo game.

I genuinely can’t find any other explanation for why people were going in so hard for what is ultimately just 343 doing 343 things. Its followed the same pattern and trajectory as every 343 game before it right down to the desperate excuses as to why sub 4000 peak players on steam is fine, obviously there are way more players on these other platforms without metrics trust us.

I guess if I was being generous, the AAA FPS space was so utterly dismal this year between 2042 and Vanguard, Infinite might have seemed slightly better at first, you know, before BTB was broken for ages or desync. The extended honeymoon period seems to be finally wearing off.

So much opportunity was squandered. This is what happens when you overpromise and absolutely under-deliver.

Professors in business schools that are familiar with the gaming industry should use 343 as an example of what not to do with your products.

Probably the most frustrating part of Halo Infinite is how it quacks like a Halo game, but everything else is a misshapen mess. Customization is bad. Balance is bad and unfun. PC is full of issues. The game is buggy, and has more bugs in it than Australia. Equipment feels weird, most of them have been repurposed for movement because they’re otherwise inconsistent or downright awful.

The game is effectively Call of Duty-lite, utilizng its movement systems and some gameplay elements, while borrowing the equipment from Apex Legends. 343 has yet to make a Halo game that feels like it’s trying it’s own thing. Halo 1-3 were not like the games around them, so why does Infinite feel like it needs to hide behind the big boys?

The fact that they partnered with NetEase is heart breaking.

Microsoft earnings report in regards to xboxlive for the 4th and final quarter-
-Xbox content and services revenue decreased 6%

When you over-promise and under-deliver like 343 has this is what you get…losses.

On Steam Halo Infinite is struggling to maintain 3,900 players…a day.

Farm Simulator 2021 though gets over 10,000 players a day and those people had to buy that game.

Makes you ask yourself the question…WTF?!

Simply put, Halo Infinite on PC feels bad to play. I dont know how they did it. I dont know why they did it. But EVERYTHING about Infinite on PC feels off and incorrect.

I imagine Farm Simulator is pretty relaxing and well put together.
