I’ve been hearing a lot about a upcoming TU, which is impressive since I haven’t heard any of the details besides the true skill thingy. I’m just a little confused because people have been talking about this like it the resurrection of Christ yet anyone i talk to has no idea, so I guess what I’m asking is dose any one know anything about the January TU.

Considering the possible weight this TU may have in maintaing my interest in Halo 4 and subsequent Halo games, I would really appreciate more talk from 343.

I know they are going to bring back Slayer Pro to be more competitive but I dont know if it will be released with the TU.
All I know is, this forum is gonna be a hellzone after the TU releases.

Yet another reason why game devs SHOULD NOT listen too much to the community. THe -Yoinked!- up Reach by listening to all the whinny -Yoinks!-. Now, they’re gonna -Yoink- up their own game.

With a visible ranking system you would still be playing with guest all the time. Trueskill is already in the game, it’s just invisible.

Maybe rushed but NOT due to the community.
Its due to an unfinished product being released at full price.

So you mean playlist(s) with the Trueskill being visible with guests not allowed?
Hey, many glitches have been fixed already. Things are in the works and this wont be the last TU to Halo 4.
holes in walls = fixed (kinda, they still show up in custom games but they are fixed in matchmaking
super nade throw = fixed
insta reload for Mantis Rockets and Boltshot = fixed
things are getting done and the game is getting updates weekly… Play and relax or play something till the updates are done. I haven’t played Halo 4 in a few days now… gonna play Reach and Halo 3 now. It makes being “patient” easier. But I am still confident that 343 will continue fixing things until H4 really is the best… but till then, be patient.
(first glitches then balencing then forge/customgames… after forge/custom games/ fileshare are up and running maybe we will see those “small maps” that are supposed to be in matchmaking “early january,” God I hope they meant this year.)

He means a playlist with visible ranks that does not allow guests. Have you never played a Halo game before Halo 4?
I heard the 1-50 rank system was only going to be visible through waypoint which wold be annoying. I really hope it’s visible in game. It won’t feel right otherwise. But the ranking system will at least be something worth playing matchmaking for. I’m not one for the unlocking fiasco that COD brought to the masses, this “tournament” going on also only means anything if you play all day, and k/d only means so much. Nothing was as exhilarating as in halo 3 trying to hold on to that 48 rank match after match ( was never successful enough to get to 50)

If that’s what its called then yeah. Ya know how Halo 3 was split between Ranked and Social?
Someone from 343i posted up some particulars of the update about a week ago. It will be legit. Not all encompassing, but legit.

I did. I do remember back in Halo 3 that Ranked playlists were extremely unpopular compared to Social Playlists. I also remember Bungie having to remove playlists that supported more than 8 players (Big Team Ranked and Squad Battle) because there were not enough people in ranked to support these playlists. I also remember the ‘‘horror’’ stories of players who couldn’t level up because they had a pretty long service record. Oh and those darn Battle Rifles threads… argh…
Then there was Reach, no visible Trueskill, no problem. I do remember facing extremely powerful teams as a random on a dayly basis, but maybe that was just me being too good as a lone wolf. I miss the grenade launcher thought, had mastered that gun.
Halo 2? Meh, heard that Trueskill was crap back then. Had to hack to reach the higher levels and stuff.
