This doesn't feel like Halo anymore.

I’m a longtime and hardcore Halo fan since 2001. Been loyal to my favorite game series ever since. And for the first time since 2001, I am disappointed.

Aiming down the sights:

Okay. Aiming down the sights for almost all weapons involved in the game. This is a feature that has not been in any Halo game at all, and he only weapons that should be aimed down the sights are the ones with scopes and whichever weapons already had them up until this point. It destroys the feel of how Halo should be, and I feel it doesn’t capture how Halo should be played.

Customization:

Alright, you’ve done customization before in Halo 3, Reach, and Halo 4, and even the MCC. The customization screen alone was a turnoff, and the female spartans look like absolute twigs. I don’t believe women of any kind should be represented like that. I also don’t see emblem creation, or nameplates which I really like in the MCC.

’Sniper Rifle spawning in 10 seconds’:

Remove this multiplayer feature immediately. I don’t want people bum rushing power weapons in Halo all at once. You guys had it right in Halo 4 by adding an indicator where said weapon spawns, but adding the feature of telling players WHEN it spawns should be scrapped immediately in my opinion. I just don’t want people camping weapon spawns and players bum rushing weapon spawns in such a way, and I believe this doesn’t captivate the way Halo 5’s multiplayer should be like.

Customizing buttons:

I’m a long time bumper jumper, and since Halo 4 I feel like the preset controls don’t make me feel enthused about gameplay at all. I don’t enjoy pressing the A button just to sprint. I want to be able to press down the left thumbstick and crouch that way.

Hovering:

Absolutely dislike this feature. I don’t see any use in it, and it doesn’t help capture the feel of Halo’s gameplay.

Ground pound:

Its a cool feature to add, but I feel a Halo game doesn’t need this type of feature to include in gameplay.

Spartan chatter:

I don’t like the idea of our spartans shouting off things like “enemy fire incoming!” and everything else like that. We are playing multiplayer online, if theres something like that which needs to be said, someone can say it in the game to increase communication between human players.

My concerns:

I feel like Halo is becoming less like Halo, and more what people expect in a shooter. I hate to be this guy, but it’s feeling more and more like Call of Duty now, and Halo 4 was the perfect balance between being a Halo game and features games like Call of Duty had.

I disagree on basically every point, except yeah, I don’t think automatic weapons should have ADS. And customization needs massive improvement (judging by the low res textures they probably haven’t spent much time on it yet.)

I also found it impossible to jump on the platform of the Midship remake to get the sword. Unless theres a man cannon that launches me on it.

Yeah, you have to clamber.

Do you like Halo 4?

Why shouldn’t automatic weapons have ADS/SS?

Forgot to mention I’m not a fan of them making Team Slayer into a power weapon based gametype. I get power weapons are what controls games sometimes, but basing the entire gametype on just that is redonkulous. If they want that, they can create a whole different gametype of that/

I did like Halo 4, but not as much as I enjoyed past Halo multiplayer experiences. It was my least favorite multiplayer in a Halo game…and I wasn’t too fond of Halo Reach either…

They haven’t “based an entire gametype” on power weapon spawn/map control. They based the majority of the game on it (no differently than the previous games). The only difference is that now the weapon spawns are announced.

Really? are you too fat or something? I never had trouble with that but thats just me lol

Now that I’ve played it a bit more, I’m warming up to some of the new features, but there are still some stuff I’d like scrapped for the final release. Such as spartan chatter. I’d like to see that either gone or them making spartans not sound like typical humans. Spartans are supposed to have steroid esque voices. The MANLIEST of voices. Still not a fan of them making the majority of slayer controlling the field via power weapons.

I also noticed the lack of ordinance drops like from Halo 4. That was a feature I really liked in that game and I’d like that to have a comeback. Also the new Halo pistol is overpowered, it feels like a DMR with less range and you can kill a lot of -Yoink- with that thing.

You can use that new climb ability to get up there, that’s how I did it

its a clamber jump now, it works well, you can also jump straight from the spawning point to it if you can time your jumps properly, takes a bit of doing though

  • WHERE IS IT CALL OF DUTY?- YOU CANT COMPARE HALO WITH CALL OF DUTY!- HALO 5 IS HALO

You don’t want the “Sniper in 30 seconds” type communication being announced, yet you are a fan of Halo 4 ordnance drops?!

Color me confused. Ordnance was the biggest game breaking flaw in Halo 4 and completely made the game unbalanced.

P.S. Power weapon control is what Halo has always been about whether or not you have noticed.

The “feel” of Halo isn’t the best argument to bring up. You need a solid ground for your arguments.

For me, the problem with SS is that it significantly increases the accuracy (bullet spread), rather than just being aesthetic as 343 claimed. It’s not like CoD or BF ADS, but it’s still significant.

honestly, i havnt noticed any major accuracy increase with SS its very very minimal, but i do agree it shouldnt increase, however, the SS does look and work well in Halo, it doesnt feel out of place

Why do you think ADS/SS should only be for precision weapons? Why are you against it for automatics?

Also, you don’t seem to realize that Ordnance Drops (there is no “i” in it) de-emphasize and devalue map control, which has always been a staple of arena shooters (including Halo, up until Halo 4). Arguing that it needs to return and that notifications for weapon spawns should be removed doesn’t make sense to me, since its clear that 343i wants to respect Halo’s roots this time around.

About ADS: It is old zoom reskinned. Not true ADS.

I’m sorry, but the kill times are way to high to ever feel like cod.
