This Community Is a Train Wreck ( Calm Down)

What the hell guys? We’ve seen all together maybe 60 seconds of combined in game footage and yet we are still on here already saying the game will fail?

Lets grow up. Yes we know Sprint is in the game and some form of progression system is in place. But you should have known better than to think Halo 4 was exactly like you anticipated. I can tell you it truthfully surprised me.

now lets just look at this in a civilized manner for a second.

Good things they added

  • Br is back. Good sign.

  • player mobility more in line with Halo 2-3. Faster/ Jump Higher

  • No bloom is visible

  • great visuals

  • maps built from ground up for multiplayer

  • the 2 maps shown are said to be for comp play. which is a good sign.

Things you are worried about

  • Progression system: Despite the fact that no perks or hints of a class system were shown in vid. You are still upset. It is confirmed these things will make an appearance. but from the video that has been shown we can already conclude that there is a way to play halo 4 without all that stuff. I suspect there will be different playlists for different stuff.

  • Sprint: Doesn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. We still don’t know if it can be turned off or what. wait til we know before you conclude.

Why you shouldnt freak out.

its still very early in development. with the return of the BR and the evident desire to create more competitive multiplayer maps. i have faith 343 will not let the competitive players down. We still don’t know about the ranking system, new gamemodes, or hell we don’t know anything about these so called perks. You just might like them. You haven’t even seen them people jesus. its like calling the car your parents bought for you ugly before you have even seen it.

Calm down, sit tight, wait til we have more concrete details before you start calling it the apocalypse.

I’d have faith if there was something that gave me some. Sure, there’s some good things I guess. But the bad things greatly outweigh the good, and I don’t think the community is to blame for having a bad reaction to the news really, I mean what are people supposed to think when they hear Halo 4 is going to have perks and armour abilities?

Sprint, loadouts, perks? The future of Halo doesnt seem bright to me and Im very concerned.

> its still very early in development.

lolwut

Its called have faith in 343. They may have all those things. But a month from now we may find out they have an entire group of playlists devoted to competitive Halo. They may very well have a section with no perks, AA or anything and your worrying about nothing.

I, as a competitive player, don’t mind one bit to have a progression system that I can spend some time on, as long as they have a competitive area as well

Disagree.

This community couldn’t be more on the ball. We saw something wrong, and immediately gave directed and passionate feedback. This is not what we want out of Halo. This isn’t what we asked for. We are rightly skeptical, and yes some of us are angry about this whole Perk system and the return of Loadouts and AAs.

With nothing else to go on (And 343 being overtly cryptic about them), we can only assume the worst.

This is exactly why Frankie doesn’t post here. But yea I agree with everything OP said

This game is no early in development, This game is onits 2nd or 3rd year in the works, they said the multiplayer is playable and has been running, same with campaign. They are just polishing. Yes they there are good things like the BR but whats the point if there is perks and loadouts. It doesn’t matter how much info they gave us as to how perks work, everyone knows what a perk is and they just don’t belong in halo wether they work alot or a little. If they work alot then it will ruin the game and if they work a little bit then whats the point of having them? I will buy the game and i like how it looks to be honest but what has been said is done. The maps dont look competative either they look they its a bunch of clutter, mostly wharehouse really.

Agreed, the game has Potential. Now, lets polish this sucker and figure out how we could help 343 improve what they have instead of bash Halo 4 before it even gets started. I feel privileged that they even released this information. They did not have to show us anything. Take all this information with a grain of salt. You could at least give more descriptive details of what you particularly think should be different.

You didn’t read his post did you?

The vidoc CLEARLY shows that all these things the community is over reacting about can be TURNED OFF.

This community is pathetic, even CoD fanboys exaggerate less than these losers.

I agree, however there are some good questions being raised, but why can’t people ask them in a kind civilized manner? It seems the community is too busy complaining about features which we know almost nothing about.

Gamer logic. We have yet to see anything except fo 20 seconds of in game materiel, it sucks. This is the first we have seen from it, it sucks. I saw nothing but the tip of my dogs tail for the first time, its ugly.

This is the kind of logic i hate to see. Its like the never ending battle between Call Of Duty and halo. This is the logic i have heard from the COD/Halo fight. Dolphins are better than tigers, because tigers cant breath underwater. No tigers are better than dolphins because dolphins cant walk on land. WTF guys? What does it matter which one is better? They all have different gaming styles and people like different things and have different opinions.

See the logic there? What i gather from what ive seen from halo 4, i like it. I’ve only seen 20 seconds of in play footage, so i really have nothing to base this off of. Its the same with people who dont like it. We saw a four minute video on the game guys, and it doesnt come out until september. DONT COUNT YOUR CHICKENS BEFORE THEY HATCH OK? You can judge the game on whether or not you like it when you have played it.

Good day,

Silent

What if that footage is so far in Alpha that they hadn’t developed them yet?

After this post I am done with the forums. It’s ridiculous, everyone is hating when they don’t even know anything yet; half of what is said has already been stated as wrong. I want to go around and tell everyone where to look to learn what is actually going on (interviews and articles) but there is just too much crap going around right now so I’m signing off.

People don’t even want to try looking for good things in the game. All they look for is things for which they complain.

Not everybody, but many people do.

Thats like your favourtie color being red, and you see something blue and immedeatly black list it as horrible, WHAT THE FLYING F logic is this? Pardon my language, but this is the most obscene post i have read.

> You can at least wait til you know about the Yoink! AA and loadouts before you instantly judge them. You are assuming, because there are loadoats and aa in the game that it is isntatnly bad? You sir need a Yoink! medal in ignorance. You can judge the game after you have played it, or not at all.

Right, because I’m going to buy a game I know nothing about.

Yes, we assume the worst. What are we supposed to do? Take their word for it that it’s all fine and dandy? Look at Reach. Look at it. Look at what happened. Bungie said “Reach is great! It’s totally Halo! You’ll love it!”

Massive fallout and huge fan alienation. With no information to go on besides cryptic references, this might as WELL be Reach 2.0. Until they clarify otherwise, we’ve got nothing but the past to judge it on.

And sorry for the harsh words, but seriously, judge the game when you have seen more than twenty seconds.

> And sorry for the harsh words, but seriously, judge the game when you have seen more than twenty seconds.

When they only give us 20 seconds, it’s hard NOT to judge based on those. Maybe if they’d given us more to go on, we’d be able to form a better opinion and there wouldn’t be so much hate. Maybe if they revealed a complete feature rather than teased it.

They did this to themselves.
