This community has fallen so incredibly far in the past 5 years. It’s disgusting.
I’m getting Halo 5 for the campaign only. Because we don’t deserve Halo’s multiplayer golden days. At all.
Yeah the KD thing annoys me, My friends have lower KDs and beat me at any objective and in Vehicle combat, Everyone has their own strengths and for some people it’s not Slayer. People deserve an opinion no matter what they’re like.

I think part of it had to do with, back in Halo 2 and 3, online console gaming was still in its infancy, and not everyone and their mother had Xbox Live, and we treated each other with a little more respect than we do now.
And parents didn’t let there six year olds play until 4am. Let alone the screaming obscenities at ear blessing screeches.

I’ve been a part of this community since 2002. I played LANs with Halo 1, and XBL with 2, 3, ODST, Reach, and 4.
I have introduced plenty of friends to Halo.
I never invalidated their opinions because their first game was Reach.
The Halo community is disgusting. All these whiners and nostalgia -Yoinks!-… it’s gets so old after awhile. I’m with you man, only getting Halo 5 for the campaign, along with the others that come out.
Everything in this post is right and I completely agree with the op halo as a community is dying and it’s sad to see gone are the days of sportsmanship heck you can’t even pick up a br without somebody getting angry at you but nether the less it won’t stop me picking up a copy of the game as I just love halo In general the multiplayer the story and community creations (forge) it would be amazing to see a group of people dedicated to the old days form up and play together as I’m too lazy to organise anything like that

I agree, the amount of negativity in the community is just insane. There is a big difference between giving constructive criticism and just hating on something and most people seem to be doing the latter

Omg your so right… If only they would have stayed with the gameplay set ups as h2 and h3 all the players that know and love halo would still be around, and we would be teaching our children. Instead they slapped the loyal and true fans in the face

This thread honestly does amuse me. OP, if you understand the basic tenets of capitalism, then you would know that If a company ignores their consumers’ requests, then their community will rot and eventually die.
Now, if 343 wants a pleased, cooperative community, then they should honestly LISTEN to their customer’s demands rather than trying to shove their vision of the franchise down everyone’s throats. With their current path, 343 will only face an abandonment of their fanbase, and no one is to blame but themselves.

your opinion as a vet is different than mine. Halo hasn’t lost it’s image for me and I have played since H1 in 2001.

And that is why halo is dead for a majority of the fans that have been here since the beginning. Because people like you. Thinking that 343 has fixed something. They have destroyed it and that’s why the days of 500k a day and instant games are over with because they don’t listen to the loyal fan base
