This battle pass system is gonna drive players away

I think everything about this game feels perfecr but the battle pass is immensely flawed. It takes a ridiculous long time to level up and the challenges are repetitive or take way too long to get that it makes everyone worry about that rather than winning the match. Also this is a f2p game to get new players but people aren’t gonna stick around if you have to grind challenges for hours upon hours to even unlock some average armour customisation to distinguish difference in other players. Also having credits be available only by purchase and not in the premium battlepass is ridiculous considering it costs more than the battlepass to unlock armours or coatings in the store. The customisation is one of the biggest things about halo and having it locked behind a paywall or grinding hours of repetitive challenges will ultimately kill this game unless a change comes fast

Doubt, I like the infinite battlepasses, as they are not lmited. They are not really battlepasses like the traditional ones.

Also MP is free to play so it isn’t even going to drive people away as most will just see it as a side earn.

Well you start with 1 helmet and 1 armour so it takes hours to change even that so i doubt most new players will want to stay

that is better progression then most free to play games.

Clearly you haven’t played many f2p games. Fortnite and Warzone let you gain XP through matches wins kills as well as have way more customization options at the beginning. The only good thing about infinite is battle passes stay forever which doesn’t really matter as this season is with us till May which is almost half a year away

Go lick boots somewhere else. This progression system is the worst in the industry and that’s not an exaggeration.

I agree. It sucks like that. 1k XP for ONE Level in the Battlepass feels absolutely zero rewarding after 3 hours of playing. Not to mention the stupid system of getting into random gamemodes.

And i argue that’s where we have to disagree, because this is what matters the most to me. The “fact” that if i invest my money into the BP, but aren’t in the mood to grind out each season the sh*** out of it, or IRL gets problematic and is more important so i simply don’t have the time, i don’t have the fear to miss out or waste my money on something which get taken away from me at some point. I geniunly rather take this any day and night over the like of Fortnite and Warzone… infact this FOMO concept was one of these major aspects which drove me away from the Games.

Doesn’t mean the “slow” and “limited” progress isn’t something which the devs have look into, because it devinitely needs to be looked into. But i rather spent my time on this BP Concept grinding my soul out of it, instead it become another FOMO Bullsh**.

Grind the sh** out of it nails it. It takes forever to even earn one single level in this Battlepass.

Dude, progression in Destiny 2 feels better than this, by miles. The XP grind in Halo is absurdly slow, it’s painful. Even the Flights had better progression than this.

Yeh the system is awful. Basically everything is a grind to unlock content and premium system just blocks earned content so I’d have to agree that this method can drive players away. Bad enough paying for Xbox Live. Plus if people kept paying for this premium pass then they’d end up paying more than they ever would with other games like Reach. It’s just a reminder of why I hate live service games and why I wish 343i had never gone this route.

I was thinking about this too. Destiny 2 previously had the most egregiously slow battlepass I’ve ever seen. The pass in infinite tops it by a mile.

I can attest to this, so many things regarding customization, progression, and other related content in this game are just plain wrong. Can’t even have custom emblems like the old days… just more preset garbage like H5.

Yeh and Destiny 2 was worse since it made people pay for expansions that they frequently dropped and blocked access too. It’s why I dropped Destiny franchise altogether after learning from Destiny 1 and that makes me wonder why Bungie didn’t get sued. I’ve tolerated 343i’s mistakes in the past with loot box’s with Halo 5 but I think the premium battle pass is seriously just pushing their luck. :pensive:
